We will also be sending mostly yearlings with the exception of the older birds that are bred solely for club racing.Weather forecast is certainly promising and with that little bit of extra heat in the Air should hopefully be a good race. But as we all know its far to early to call with the many Influences that discourage good racing.
-
Forgot about that and as i have said before most lofts if they are lucky will only have a handfull of pigeons worth keeping at the end of the season.
-
There are many influences outside the Weather that effect our birds and things don,t always go according to plan.Peregrine Strikes scatters them far and Wide. Then we have to contend with Atmospherics,Phone Networks,Satellite Systems, Clashing with other Organisations and Finally the Pigeon men who send Unfit,Untried,Untrained pigeons that are not Constitutionaly Sound and are either Latebreds and jumping them some 180 mls and hoping they turn up.The Role of a Race Controller is not easy in fact its a Thankless position but we try our best for the safe return of our pigeons and the organisations we are members off.To the Knockers with the Hidden Agendas on this Forum step forward with your Name and we will put it forward and lets see how you get on. :(

In form Dookit of Jock Lawrie & Son have pulled of the Hat Trick in Newmains Flying Club with 1041 birds they are 1st & 3rd ;- Velocity 1458.475 with a 3 yr old hen bred by Andy Miller. Pigeons were scarce at the start but most of the people i have spoken to have now 90% returns. ;)
-
Newmains Club best times so far are the Club Champs Jock Lawrie & Sons 10.32.am from Wakefield but returns are not so good .(50mph in par with the leaders in other feds.)
-
With most organizations liberated how are Velocitiys and returns in your Area.

Lanarkshire Fed Young Birds had only 3-Kelsos,60mls 2-Otterburns 77mls and Hexam 90mls then jumped into Youg bird National Leicester 248 mls without any problems and good returns. What is the problem with jumping yearlings / Old Birds after four sprint races from 90mls to 177mls (Wakefield) then the following week into Leicester 248 mls.If they are Healthy and Fit Jump them if not leave them in the Dookit and wait for comeback sprint races. ;) -
Widnae let the East boys in after filling you with Moet & Chandon Champagne
-
Good luck to all wish we had something similar in Lanarkshire.

Lanarkshire Race Controller

It certainly a sad state of affairs but lets wait and see what materializes at tommorrow nights delegate meeting. With regards to the racepoint this week common sense must prevail and only the Office Bearers can decide. The Fed requires assistance in this matter and no matter who gets appointed it will be short lived due to the mentality of some members who for whatever reasons have hidden agendas and are Hell Bent trying to demoralize and undermine certain individuals within the Fed.On a brighter note Saturday ,looks promising mainly dry at the start (need to get away 1st thing hopefully Wakefield) with rain coming in from the West but with South East Winds should leave the route clear up until lunchtime.Lets not forget what Jim Hannah has done for this Fed over the last 3 years and the pigeon sport in general. :( -
Being the top loft in the club to date how many have you got ,and what do you suggest is the perfect distance for your youngsters.
-
For someone who was nearly Dux at the School why o why did we at least not try.Burns would have proud of you as his second in command.
-
Bigdafty for the first time you are right.
-
Well done Stuart and thank you for your response.Lanarkshire Boys are panicking about the 130 mile jump next week but as i have said before if they are fit and healthy, bred for the job there should be no problems.Gets rid of your 98% sh-te in a wanner. ;)
-
David guiltly as charged but lets look forward to the rest of the Season and hopefully we have learned from our judgements. On the bright side we have a loft full of pigeons to fight another day and no matter what we think there is still 98 % Sh-te and our feeding bill is going through the roof.
-
David what is worse the Newmains Team have a waddin next weekend and will not see any Doos returning but on the bright side we have Rabbit on the Menu ;)
-
Hindsight is a great attribution but i am absolutely sick. But we live with the Sword and Die with the Sword and i am now contemplating on taking up the offer given by Auld Alec Dickson today in the Doo Club of taking up Rabbits.
-
For those who have liberated today how are returns and Velocities in your Area. ;)
-
Decisions were made Rightly or Wrongly and passed by the Office Bearers.Comments by JOCKY on the other thread are unfounded ; Hell Bloody Joke : from apprentice to tradesman in 4 weeks with a couple of wins under his belt.Jim Hannah is one of the Finest straight forward talking Fanciers in Scotland and lives by his judgement for the well being and safe return of our pigeons into Lanarkshire. If there is anyone who wishes to be put forward for this very important role put your name forward and stop sitting in the back burner firing daggers. :(
