Well done to G.Harkin & Son winning Cambusnethan & Morningside Flying Club with 32 members sending 913 birds with a winning Velocity of 1260.383 and they have named their Doo Craikneuk Dyke. ;) ;)Stuart will be in the Doo Club this Friday on the Panel and buying everbody drink. ;)
I have been told that they made just over £2000.00 with most of the pigeons going for the opening bid.Sad but the reality is the current climate is dictating what we are willing to spend or can afford. :(
Anywie the Long Standing Secretary of some 30 yrs plus has just pulled off a fantastic win in Newmains. Jock The Lum Lawrie and his apprentice Young Buck being 1st &4th with 1020 birds competing velocity 1248 with a direct M&D Evans Vandabelle.
Well done Wee Man and God Bless
Budgie
Liberated at 9.40am West Wind from Hexam 90miles to the Motherwell Area the best time that i have heard is Jock Lawrie and his Laddie at 11.46 am and the great Tom Richardson @11.51 am with returns first class. ;)Well done to Jim Hannah and the race controlling team for waiting that little bit longer to get a bit of heat in the air.
With the early liberations how are the times and returns in your area. With the Almost Due West winds here in Lanarkshire they certaintly wont do 1887 Velocity as last week.
Good luck to all . ;)
Centre:A POLLARD
West: A MCINNES
East :J WHITEFORD & FAMILY (or the Man Fae Bunkle) and i put wee Wull Smarts Doos through the night and they are Stottin
Newmains club have 1020 birds away this week to Hexam which is around 90 mls to the Motherwell area and it looks good for a mid morning liberation . :X
Good Luck to All.
Midge thanks for the attached but how many fanciers are aware of this as before the last update i dont think we had this problem and why should it accept the pigeon at the marking. The system requires to be changed as it shoud not allow the pigeon to be race marked.
We also had a problem on Saturday with the Unikon Race Arrival Times. We had a pigeon timed recorded at 11-04-32 from Otterburn and they were not liberated until 12.00 hrs.The pigeon in question arrived at 14.15 pm but the time did not record. On taking the clock to be opened it recorded the pigeon as our first timer but no time.On our own printer it recored it as 11.04.37 but there was no pigeon so we are certainly confused as to what could have caused this to happen in the first instance. :-/
Newmains winner is Forrest & Cuthbertson timing @ 13.16 doing 1795 vel .12 of the first 15 pigeons out of 990 birds are yearlings which tells you if your yearlings are not on form you will be last. Returns are first class and lets look forward to a wee bit of distance next week ( Hexam ) around 90 miles mark as my Wee pal Jock The Lum has whipped us the last two weeks and the Black Tie is oot alang wae the petrol and matches. :)
One thing is for sure there are no pre-potent pairs out there for sale.Beware of the stock pigeons that will now appear in the fancy press which are no good to their present owners and no good to us.Keep clear and avoid the temptation to buy as 98% are Sh-te and hence the reason for offloading.
Lanarkshire are at Otterburn (78miles) and the weather looks good with Sunshine 12c ESE 14 MPH good visibility ideal for first race(toss) with the hens. You dont want North East Winds so early on it can ruin pigeons for the season.
Beans are only any good on toast.Barley, mixed with hormaform, redband and peanuts are ideal for 500mls and over and just watch how good they look when they return.
They should be o.k but if in any doubt treat them with Trichocure from Pharma which deals with Trichomoniasis and Hexamitiasis.First signs are yellow moisture on the mucous membrane in the throat.
