I didnt go ,I had plans to go.I wanted to go to an auction and see what it was like .But my better judgement prevailed and i didnt want to spend money on stuff i didnt need .I took the kids to stay at my mums in wales and me and the missus decorated my Lads room instead. I will take one round of my racers this year(due to not having stock). I try and breed less than i need so i dont have to cull when its not needed.I have paired early this year and they should all be weened in 3 week's.This is due to my inexperience though and next years breeding will be done the middle of febuary.Saying that i am experimenting with my old birds and if all turns out well i will breed the same time next year.Barring accidents my youngbird team will be 22 youngsters.

Does anyone know where i can download a programme that tell's me how much protein and carb's are in certain seeds and cereals. It happened to me when i moved house near the end of last season i lost all my stock birds i bought.It was my first full season and nearly my last.I was all ready for packing in.I only stayed in the sport because i managed to get all my youngbird team back and decided to fly the last two race's.I raced them a week later and took second club seventh fed.Pity i lost the parents to the bird.

Its probably £45 to join and for the fed and rpra fee's .You will have to pay per bird each week as well.The prize money is nothing to write home about unless your in the big race clubs ie:one of the national's and then only if you pool your bird.Most people who make money out of the pigeon sport do so by selling birds or pigeon product's.

Maybe the gravitational pull of the moon makes them fly higher?

Management does play a part but its not the be all and end all .If that was the case why does one bird or horse win yet his loftmate or stable mate is way down the table if they have both had the same conditioning and training surely they should be neck a neck or at least first and second. Yes Training is the biggest factor in any sport but the individual athlete be it horse bird dog or man has to have the right makeup to do the training justice.

One example is i have to many cocks so i got given some hen's to sit ,i put these with my lesser cocks so to speak.Now i dont want to breed of someone else's birds when i am trying to cultivate my own flock so i will just float a single egg under them from my own pair's that way i can breed my own birds and also have a hen to race the cock to.

i am gonna single rear this year just because i dont want to many youngsters. I am gonna float an egg from my better pair's under the not so good pair's.

Going to try a roundabout type of system .Using my cocks for club racing and my hens for national's. I only have a small team of birds and no stockers .so i will be breeding of my racer's.Looking at trying something new for my youngsters a little variation on the darkness.

Will be a few winning hens in my loft next year if all go's to plan i'm racing hens and cock's.

There was some great entrants to the show's bloody shame it ended like it did. I feel sorry for the Richard really.He had to sither through all them emails and take his own time to upload the pics to the site and i dont think anyone including myself has even said thankyou yet. I will start by saying thankyou Richard the hard work was much appreciated. Hopefully we can put this aside as a community and look to moving forward.

i bred four youngsters(two rounds) from one pair this year and all of them where cock's. all four raced out to 180 miles as youngsters and where on average my best performers and still have all four .I just gotta find the hens to pair with them now.

Dont blow it all out of proportion guy's its still for a bit of fun. Name and shame then yes even take there entries out but lets not go about banning people of the site .Naming and Shaming would be the best Idea as we could all do with a laugh.Maybe have a mock trial and if guilty make them pay a quid to the site to redeem themselve's. Lets not take the Fun out of it by being to serious if people cheated it was probably as a joke that has gone wrong. And no i'm not one of the cheaters.

Maybe get a panel of judge's for next year.
