amazing.............. How did you find this.. thanks. Ed

But have they played the power house Rangers yet? Just kidding here as I know nothing about either team, not sure even what they are playing. Here in the states in Football season and there are many teams that some think are best and others think differently.. Me I am a pigeon fan... Ed 8) 8)

Here the Red bared birds are often called Mealys among the racing pigeon fancy, but not in the show birds. I have heard the actual color is brown carrying the "T" pattern. Red checks I have always heard called that, where the solid reds are mostly call recessive reds (meulemans). Ed

which team is the best Celtic or Rangers.... This should fire some up.. LOL. Ed

No problem John and if I can help in any other way just hollar out.. Later and sleep well. Ed

Where I use to live in Nevada the weather was so harsh that in order to raise ybs before march you had to have either a heated loft or heated nest boxes. I never paired up before the 15th of February and never had a band problem. I do agree if bands were not available until march there would not be a problem in January but think about this, whatever the date would be there would always be those trying to short circuit the system to get some kind of advantage. Just my thoughts anyway. Ed

In the states there are also rules about not putting the bands out until the 1st of January. The bands are sent out to the club secretaries and then dispersed on the 1st. Like everyone else I also believe some (and maybe many) receive their bands before that magical day. Ed ;D ;D

That might be right, but your imput is the first I have seen.. Ed ;D ;D

John Robo and Daimond Dave along with any others that want to read this... When they talk about the mountains in the eye, they are talking about the iris. It is usually much darker and looks thicker than the part that lies beneith. When they say mountains they want to see either white or yellow behind or underneith the darker Iris, when they talk of valleys it is the lighter color of the iris where the darker colors would be the ridges. Hopefully I am saying what I think I am and even more hopefully you are understanding what I want you to... LOL. Let me know If I need to be more specific. Thanks. Ed

Its great to see a genetics expert on here. Great input and please continue. thanks. Ed

speckled, me thinks that you are more of an eyesign believer than you let on. I realize deep down inside are feelings that one will never share with the masses and will in fact sometimes heatedly argue against in order to be more convincing.. ;D ;D ;D Ed

Only thing I would say on this subject is to let the moderators settle it and be done with it, the only thing that threads like this do is to continue the conversation about something that none of us can do anything about. Please lets just get back to pigeons stuff and let this subject die off. No offense meant to anyone. Ed

John Robo and Diamond Dave, I by no means am an eyesign expert. There are several things an eye will tell me such as sex, health and most importantly breeding capabilities. I use eyesign specificily for breeding purposes. Eyesign is only one of the tools available to all of us. I don't use eyesign to tell me how far certain birds will fly or how far they won't, their Sire's and Dam's have already taught me that on the race course. For many years I have studied and learned what I could on eyesign, I have talked with Jack and have his eyesign tape, I have read Bishops book and many, many others. I do not totally agree with everything I have read and as far as the eye rings go I my thoughts are totally different than most. But back to subject if there is something you would like to know I would be happy to answer if I can, you are free to agree or disagree or do neither. One thing I might add is there is an eyesign thread already started by others that are undoubtedly much more knowledgable than I. Good day. Ed

Staffy you are now showing your true novice form. A gold or green eye is just a yellow eye. You need to just look at the base color beneith the iris. I gold or green looking eye is in all actuality a yellow eye. Good day. Ed

Be sure to post some pix of the new loft.. Ed

May your pigeons be faster than the hawks Don and by the way happy birthday. Ed

Paul, I really don't know where to start here but I will give it a try. Anyone can breed a loft full of good eyesign birds, its actually very easy if you stay within the family. Not all good eyesign birds are racers. Not all good eyesign birds will win in the eyesign shows. You are right on all of that but to say that champion birds do not have good eyesign is a miss-statement. All champions do have good eyesign, maybe not good breeding eyesign as all winners definately will not breed winners. What most eyesign people look for in a eye is for their breeders, eyesign is a tool and only one of many, the non-believers will never be convinced and should never even be approached about eyesign as their mind has already been closed on the subject. But for those who want more knowledge that eyesign is one of many avenues. Jack has much knowledge to give to anyone willing to listen or read. As to the eyes above with my humble and limited knowledge I would only have three of them as breeders, 2,4 and 6, 8915, 885 and 437 respectively. The rest would be flyers or pumpers.. These comments were not meant to be critical or rude to anyone just my thoughts. Good Day. Ed

I will say after looking at the pix again that I would very much like to have the cock that owns the eye in the 2nd pix. Ed ;D ;D
-
Staffy where did you ever learn to copy eye pix off the internet, I would almost swear those came from the austrailian web sit. Thats probably it you are from there and took those pictures over at Leo's place. If we give ole staffy enough rope he will surely hang himself. If I had won half what he claim to have won I would be putting my name to it and let everyone verify the results, until then we will just have to take a grain of salt with everything he writes. Tim you are right on.. Later. Ed
-
mO. How old was the cock and was he giving the whole tablet or just part of it. Thanks. Ed
-
All good ideas and I would never have thought of the viagra but guess its worth a try. I also have been told that hemp seed or steroids might help, I tried a vet to get steroids for the bird but was told it was not a choice anymore. Ed
-
Some very good ones there my friend. Ed

Try to be on the long end of you club/combine and then the overfly will not kill ya on the clock. Ed

Does anyone have any ideas about bringing back a sterile cock to breeding capability? Thanks. Ed
