Always a job to know where to release, I've taken them 8mls. and they've beaten me home, if it's a long way from home might be worth keeping in a day or two longer

No panic George, if they're not mature enough to fly up to the hatch to get out they're not mature enough to get back in, just follow nature, when youngsters can fly they will, I always have a viewing bay on my young-bird section so they can have a good look at the outside and I have never lost a youngster off the loft.
