I am off to Arran on Friday until Tuesday this week , i am not sure if there are any pigeon's over there but i will keep my eyes open for a loft for me to go and visit to say hi .Do PB know of anyone over there ? Avril

Good Morning , George you told me i couldn't join your club !!! maybe i would be too hot to handle for it you meant !! anyway never mind , i am sure it would be a great night a function with people from PB from all over , swapping info and having a good time .We could have a discussion and see what everyone thinks and possibly someone could arrange a get together ,maybe the moderators have a committee who could see about it . Good morning , i don't have a loft so i can't join a club ,but i am interested in the birds .I am reading what you are saying about the social aspect of the Sport .Could you not organise something central in the country for everyone to come to twice a year say .I don't know how many menbers are on here and everyone seems friendly , perhaps PB could have a social function someplace bringing members from different clubs together . Evening , you often think of someone who keeps pigeons in the sport will be an older man woman , but these pics show there are a lot of younger people keeping pigeons so its not a dying sport as was thought by many .This is a good thing to see pics of everyone enjoying their birds . Avril

Do you know what Scotomas are? Everyone has them and they can keep you from seeing the opportunities all around you. So what, exactly, is a "Scotoma?" It's what doctors call the defect that blocks sight in one part of our visual field. It's also a term I use to describe our occasional failure to see what's right in front of us because we build our own Scotoma, or mental blind spot, to it. You see for the most part, we see what we expect to see or what we look for, not what is really there. What we expect to see is determined by our beliefs about reality. If we believe the world is a hostile, unfriendly place, we'll see evidence to support that belief everywhere we look. But if we believe people are basically good and that the world is a supportive, friendly place, that's what we'll see and experience. Now, our beliefs are mostly a matter of how we have been conditioned since birth. But once we become adults, it is possible to become aware of our conditioning, our belief systems, and even our Scotomas. We can choose to expand our consciousness, remove our blind spots, and adopt beliefs that will help us grow instead of clinging to expectations and attitudes that keep us suspicious and small. By the simple act of making this choice, we actually start the wheels of a better future turning. And by the daily affirmation of goals that support our commitment, we become top-notch Scotoma Busters, and then we really start to grow! If everyone didn't have blind spots just maybe you could all work together to make it a better sport for all to enjoy !

Up date ........... held willows sister today , Willow was up on the roof .........and another 3 hens , so i am getting there and G was ever so good letting my hold his pigeon's .I will keep at it and i have orderd a few pigeon books also ....... Harry good luck ! ! ! she's not 48 but who knows nothing ventured nothing gained . Avril

Do not give up hope , my bird went to France and never came home for 28days she was a baby bird but she did turn up , so all hope is not lost yet . It is strange that so many birds do get lost of late though . I hope you get them back safe . Willow

HELP WANTED PLEASE . I have a friend who's daughter is getting married in Maritius in a few weeks . He is wanting to let a few doves off when they get married as he will not be over there with them . does anyone know if there is another fancier over there that could help with this please . He has got intouch with the hotel but they have not got back to him yet , so i said i might know some fanciers friends who could HELP PLEASE .Any suggestions on anyone who would have them there and how do i in touch with them . I have not been on here very long and as i have said i am a complete novice to the pigeon world but i am learning a wee bit at a time .When i read the posts it all seems to be about the BOP and what you can all do but nothing concrete is taken place that i am reading . Lots of suggestions but not much going on . If you want to draw attention to anything these day no matter what the problem if you do not have a celebrity or someone in parliment on board you will not get the attention . Any cause be it health like Cancer is made more aware of if someone in the media is behind it working for the cause . I did a sponcerd walk last year for Diebetes and Liz Mc Coldrum the long distance runner was supporting it and was there at the start of the race . She was making people aware as she was a media person . So write to Granada or Jack alias whoever and see if he will be the media person on behalf of the pigeon fanciers plight against BOP .

A small mind you have ......just ask me ! If you don't get someone in the media on board you won't get the coverage yourselves to do anything . It's all talk and no action and when someone gives an opinion you love to critisise it .So Just ask me ... i am asking YOU ......what is being done seriously ? Since the soaps on tv take on issues and turn them into programs that millions of people watch . An idea would be to write to Granada and put forward a story line for Jack who everyone loves to say why his pigeons are missing and not comming back , he could start something going on about BOP and get the public interested . Or you could write to him about comming onboard and getting more publicity for Pigeons against BOP . Just a thought .

I also send you happiness and health for you both to enjoy for many years . Being pigeon people i hope there are a few doves being let out for you on your special day . Love to you both . xx
