Of course they think they know everything and when you show an interest in something and someone gives you a bird they then tell you its registerd in their name so its not your bird really, when it suits him ! I stayed up the whole weekend waitng for her to come home from France , when she turned up 28days later i finished my work to go and see her straight away , it was even me who got her in as she wouldn't come in for him , so now its his bird again . PITA ., I can't do anything right for doing it wrong!

Morning Rembrant . Mr G , hasn't let me take her ,and as for me feeding his birds that would be a no no . I couldn't do it , even the thought of going into the loft with all those birds scares me .The future doesn't look good for me there and as for Willow he said he may loose her anyway in time .So either way i am beat ,Yep he is an auld fuss pot , both birds he will loose in time .

Thank you Tractor Boy , i can't get something at my house as i wouldn't be able to go into the loft as im still frightend of the birds ,My phobia hasn't dissapeard that much . Willow was a special bird to me ,I could hold her only ,I wouldn't be able to go into a loft with other birds even if she was there ,so that is why he goes and gets her for me to hold , yep it sounds daft i know . I will still have an interest in her but i won't get to see her .It is complicated to say the least my bird .I can support you all without having one . Willow

That is a good idea , i will see if i can get a cat basket for the day from someone , he' now says he won't breed her just now ,PITA but he's still not budging to letting me take her for a few hours ,first he trusted me now he doesn't i can't win . Rembrant , a basket wouldnt be any good as they would not see her .I work in a nursing home and have been telling everyone about getting her back and how good she is doing , so i wanted to take her there and let them see her but not to take her out as i wouldnt want to hurt her as im still not very good at holding her . and they will be excited seeing her ,So if she was in an open box i could let them see her through the box , but not a big box like the transport ones that have loads of birds in them . I will have to keep working on him as hes determined im not having her to take away . As for clocking his napper well don't think that would work . And i can't go and get her myself as i can't go into a loft too many birds for me .i am ok with one but not hundreds .

we have established that Willow is my bird , so why when i want to take her to my work with me in a box so everyone can see her , does she then become his bird again !!!!!!!! So i now have to find a small open box that Willow can see out of and know she is safe there , i am hoping George has one that i can borrow for the day . Then i have to convince Him that i can have her for the day .maybe he thinks i won't bring her back ,my prize baby !

Hi , my friend George alias clockman ! was picking up some today from Forth rd bridge , he was busy last time i spoke trying to find the owners . Why are the birds stray , if they have been in a race once they have rested if they are a bit lost why can't they just be tossed and find there way home . Isn't that what's supposed to happen they fly home to there own loft ? And why are so many birds getting lost from all the races ? My willow was lost for 28days from France and came home herself .

To be honest ,it was not me who wanted to breed her , but my friend .His idea was that it would keep her at home as she has a tendency to get out of the loft as she is a smart bird . She has laid 2 eggs so i guess that means that she can have babies even though she is only 1 herself . He has lots of L/B . i think ive got that right ,i know as we can't get away for a weekend as they need fed daily . Pigeons they take over your whole life , glad i only have one .

Thank you all , yes she is a topper , i have a new man picked out for her now , so i hope in time she will have some babies to sit on herself . We have kept her eggs just now but have to see if another hen will sit on them . As i said i am still learning and when i watch the cock taken a turn sitting on the eggs its amazing .It's just a pity that the cock she had was not strong enough to claim a box for them both .Then again he was missing for 8 weeks then came home ,so i guess both of them are a bit of roamers . News on Willow she is doing good , she was paired with a cock , i wasn't very keen on him myself ,but that's not my doing ! Anyway he wouldn't claim a nest box for them so i guess he was useless and now she has laid 2 eggs and on the floor as no nest bowl and she has abandoned them also . Some men can't even find a house for his woman to rear there kids . So i think i should pick the next nest mate for her and see if he will make a house for her before she has her next lot of eggs . Morning , is there not an MP that keeps birds ? my opinion is that you will have to get someone onboard who can influence the public as well as the rspb .Then the fanciers can get petitions from themselves and the public .A little knowledge is better then none ,try and get the media to interview and document what is happening .You have to get yourselves more invloved as a sport rather than a hobby .If it was a reconised Sport then you would have a better chance of changing peoples opinions . The publics opinions on pigeons are that they are a nucense , dirty and not worth saving . When infact they are international athletics . The balls in your court to get something done to making it a reconised Sport then you will get something positive done .Willow

Change is a big word , fear of change is what most are afraid of ,take the electric clock ,im told lots of people didn't want that but now everyone does . If someone was to arrange a meeting in different areas and got it started then it would be a start , good luck to you all then to get something done .It only takes one to start something then the flock will follow as its human nature to do so. So guys if you want to get something done don't sit about writng about it , take action and start the ball rolling then the ones who are complaining about it won't have to say anything if they are not contributing to making the sport infact a Sport .Or maybe its a woman who you need to get it moving ! so maybe us women fanciers better get together and show the men what they should be doing to change it into a Sport .

Good morning , everyones bickering already ! i am a novice pigeon woman and i find this site interesting finding things out about the birds , i do however find a bit of back stabbing .I am learning about the hawks and the damage they are doing to the pigeons .Having a meeting would maybe be the way forward and trying to get a petitions together from all over the country and further, to get something done about them ,as there seems to be a lot of conflict with the pigeon men on what could be done . As it is a sport could the sporting world not be approached on this subject .......It's just a thought from a novice . Willow

This is willow , a very cleaver baby bird only 1year the other week ,she may not have finished with any prizes from France , but to me she is a winner for making it home in 28days .Next year hopefully she will make it on the night from the experience of the last race and that would be excellent . I held her this morning as you can see ,not very good as im still a novice at handling birds ,i will get better now she is back . Thank you all once again

im extatic i managed to get her down from the roof myself .i stood in the loft with another male bird in there and i shook some food and spoke to her .and yep she came right in .wow how brave was i .considering my phobia for 48yrs.willow would not come in for my friend but she did for me .my girl willow .yes yes yes.
