I brought 6pair over to Portugal in 2011 and used the dover/calais ferry, I had the birds vaccinated for parra/pox the vet gave me a letter stating same and said he checked them and declaired them fit and healthy and free of any disease [he didnt charge me a penny]. I also had the dog vaccinated and chipped [which did cost] the upshot was no one at any border crossing even looked nor asked for any certification lol.

On u-tube a peta vídeo,one thing to learn straight away. We should only discuss racing pigeon matters with people we know are genuine fanciers.[theres a few well known doo men been caught out!!!]

Just back home, it was a great test for the doos.Inever saw more than abt 10 come together they almost all came in singles or twos and they come from all points of the compass, they were in great condition a credit to the olr management team.When i left there were around 200+ home with abt 600 still to come but they were coming in every minute or so and the auction of the first 20 was abt to begin.I think you all saw it on this thread where Mr Hay said i should have a good bevie from the winnings whilst it rested in my acc. Well here we go again, Golden race final should be ok for tomorow. 849 birds basketed forcast looking good, Germany are biggest senders with 374 with Portugal 148 and GB with79. There are 21 countries represented so looking forward to na exiting race, al be rooting for all the GB birds obviosely but keeping my fingers crossed for the first one to be a scots doo.[bring it on !!!lol]

Flipin heck!!!!first the silver race held over because of the weather and now the Gold race postponed because of same. The birds are being brought back and race will prob be nxt week as weather looks to be bad for nxt couple of days. Ifeel sorry for the many people who have traveled from all over europe and some from further afield because most will be going home before the race can be held.We are having freak weather just now with heavy rain low cloud and mist.

Silver race postponed until monday 16th, weather here overcast and rain.First holdover in 3yr lol.

Its the silver race for the Algarve one loft race on saterday, 1st prize 10,000 euros or a car. The distance is 188ml, I wondered if anyone from the Basics sight would be over as i will be there and it would be nice to meet up.The big one is on 28th sept from Braganca 312ml with 1st prize of 75,000 euros its a great race a good test for the birds and hospitality and orginisation second to none, my mate ollie will be over for it [anyone else ?]
