No I agree Rab, the boys up north do what they do cos they have too? If the members that fly 300+ want to fly inland nats then thats fair enough but they must accept thats its a whole country affair and that some will be flying considerably less? If not, then its not a national and as the starter of the thread wanted, its a regional affair? We just witnessed an exceptional performance into Moscow from an inland nat that the south should have, on paper, won? And a great 2nd open from a fancier that would not have been deemed in a hot spot down here? That for me keeps the game open for all and if the membership send in numbers to the inland nats then all is good and the club remains healthy? The water races are the holy grail and I think Chris, who could have worded it a bit better, was trying to point that out? I have respect for anybody that turns out top of the list in a nat wotever the distance, having naver done so, but also value the doos that you look at on the result and say ' I wish I could do that'? Spoke to Robbie Higgins at the nat doo this year and he told me of conquests from the coast that would make anybody proud but at the same time knew that we wer racing diffo doos from diffo distances? Top respect for the boys that fly long, the boys that fly in bad bits and the ones that just do it year in year out? Well done.

Cmon now Rab, if ye fly 480miles to the gold cup then thats where you live is it not? Inland nats at 260miles are a whole diffo ball game than 480?? I have no probs wotever in inland nats and see them as a natural progresion to a bigger,stronger SNFC where all members have racing that they feels suits them? BUT claiming that it is easy to fly in section A from the gold cup and others is utter tosh. Diffo horses for diffo courses are required granted but the same dedication and commitment is a must and the thought of simply sending at timing cos you fly less than your competitors insults us deeply. The fanciers in Cumbris, especially the west, have it hard enuff without us joining in?? Just read recently of a bird topping the combine for the 5th time from the water into west cumbria??? There cant be many birds about that can boast that record into a place that the RAF struggle to fly in LOL!!! Cmon guys its a hard game at best?

The SNFC was setup for distance racing was it not? I am not against the inland nats, just dont send many to them and have had worse races from them, returns wise, than I have had over the water? Area libs, wot are they? Are you suggesting we have national races where the west are released at diffo time than the east? Federation races are the life blood of pigeon racing, why would they be scraped? So you could build a team from short races? Hmm my worse race this year was from ingleton under 100 miles!!
