  1. Good morning all.
  2. Well done.
  3. I've been using the upgrade since the last thread on this and I have had no problems whatsoever. Cortana does not seem to work, but I am not interested in having my computer talk to me, so haven't spent any time to research it. I haven't noticed any difference if perhaps slightly faster. I cannot remember what version I was on before, but think it was 7. It was not the newer one with apps. My son had that version and it drove me crazy attempting to follow it.
  4. Good morning all.
  5. Good morning all.
  6. Thanks Nogin.
  7. Coming on nicely.
  8. Good morning all.
  9. Happy birthday.
  10. Sorry Pat, didn't realise you were being serious. What's length got to do with it? Don't take the word measure in a literal sense. length has nothing to do with it. Measure could indicate weight, length, or by eye. It is a matter of judgement. Being serious, my judgement in regard to feed is poor.
  11. Cut back on the lot by the amount that is left overall. I am not yet into the science of feeding. I mix my own boost feed. I feed a bagged mixture, adding beans, oats and barley at different times. If they leave some, I cut them down. If they eat it all and are not gaining weight, I look for reasons why, sometimes giving them more, sometimes not. I was told, get the feed right to win. I don't win. I might get into the science of feeding.
  12. Mine is bigger than yours. No it's not, I measured mine from the other side of the table. Boom, boom.
  13. Right now, I could do with one. No it was with a charity organisation.
  14. Each grain is about 5mm in length. Some people go to extraordinary lengths. Pat, measure is a term of speech, don't take it literally. Contrary to some opinions, I am not stupid, far from. Why ask, why measure?
  15. You are able to give me 10 years "in the game", but the situation you describe is very sad!!! I have acted as Secretary and Treasurer in organisations for over 30 years. I have held the chair in organisations numerous times within that same time and have also held National chairs, so plenty experience in regard to conducting meetings. The President should be ensuring the proper governance of the organisation and whilst he/ she is entitled to an opinion it serves better if they are able to remain neutral only using their deliberative vote when they feel extremely strongly in regard to a matter. There are ways a chairman can guide a meeting. In my short time within pigeons I have attended a few poorly ran meetings and I have stated that fact and my statement was minuted. An organisation can only be as good as the members within it. If you have a poor organisation, it is because you have poor members. Members must own their organisation and there only way of so doing is to place people in the governing positions that merit the post, then informing them with regard to the direction they wish to proceed. The Management Team, then have to do the work and decide whether it is feasible and report back. It would take too long to try to mention every principle within good management.
  16. I measure the left over Barley and cut the other grains proportionately until I reach the balance. This balance varies depending on work, heat, etc.
  17. I was elected Federation Secretary at our last AGM. That may have been because the incumbent gave up the office, but during the meeting a member stated that other members spoke about me behind my back. My reply was that nobody in the Federation was my friend, so I wasn't bothered. Water off a duck's back was a phrase I used. I had acquaintances within the Federation with whom I was fairly friendly, but there were many whose names I didn't even know. The jury is out whether they keep me in the post, but I know that I have performed well. Like you Walter, I am better at admin than pigeon racing, but I still enjoy my doos.
  18. When this sort of behaviour starts, the Chairperson should rise to a point of order and instruct the loudmouth to be seated or to conduct themselves in a proper manner. It is not only the person voting in a certain way, to stay in the clique, that needs to man up, the chairpersons need to conduct their meetings correctly. I am a President within a Club and my meetings do not become rowdy.
  19. Sammy Stewart is not his user name. LOL.
  20. I can't find his PM address. I've now found his phone number though.
  21. Devastating!!! Stay with us and accept the offered help.
  22. I agree with you Walter and for the same sentiments. If they act like men, they would speak up for what they thought and if necessary against the loudest mouth.
  23. Happy birthday.
  24. Well done.
