Truth be told Roly. Very few people now wish to serve their Clubs, Feds or Unions. Those that so do are derided as being in it for themselves or for having something to gain from it, "puffing out their chests". I serve as Secretary to two Federations and attempt to carry out the will of my Members. I serve on the Committee of the SHU, again attempting to carry out the will of my Federation Members where they do not conflict with the needs of the Union. People who serve on Committees must uphold the rules of their organisation and advise the Members when they stray from them. They should attempt to show good governance of their society. There are very few left with the knowledge and ability so to do AND prepared to put their head above the parapet in this age of complainers and cynics.
