  1. Chrisss In the fed I fly in it has been proved and proved again that y/birds more than benefit from having 4-5 races under their wing. Many a fancier that have tried to bolster their old bird team with youngsters that have only had a race or two only to become unstuck with them as yearlings. Pick your days that you race them, leave them at home if the temperature is 30C or more and beware of strong tail winds.
  2. Its a protein lump, It wouldn't hurt to put them on tea for a week.
  3. Cloud beginning to break, w/s/w wind.
  4. Vinegar Jimmy? you sure your not getting your malts mixed up
  5. I think how you design your loft depends on what system you intend racing on. If w/hood I think housing all your pigeons in the one loft would be a mistake.
  6. The nearer the top you get the harder its to find that minute or two that makes all the difference but when someone's constantly 5+ minutes behind what advice would you give them.
  7. Paula I think the best advise we could give is for you to make contact with one of the wildlife centres listed on the following link. http://www.britishwildlifehelpline.com/Centres%20_%20England.html Perhaps there you could find one local that are willing to take a look at your patient and advice accordingly. Wish you and your baby pigeon well
  8. Perhaps you could say that the way we feed is a reason why we dont seem to get pigeons sitting on the loft the day after a bad race the way we used to but I think not. I think the pigeons we race today are powder puffs, in search of speed the pigeons constitution seems to have suffered. They just dont seem to have it in them to get up the following day like they used to.
  9. Well done Paulo, well chuffed for ya mate! Start turning the screw now

  19. A Priest, an Indian Doctor, a rich Chinese Businessman and an Aussie were waiting one morning for a particularly slow group of golfers in front of them. The Aussie fumed, 'What's with those blokes? We must have been waiting for fifteen minutes!' The Indian Doctor chimed in, 'I don't know, but I've never seen such poor golf!' The Chinese Businessman called out 'Move it, time is money' The Priest said, 'Here comes George the greens keeper. Let's have a word with him.' 'Hello, George!', said the Priest, 'What's wrong with that group ahead of us? They're rather slow, aren't they?' George the greens keeper replied, 'Oh, yes. That's a group of blind fire fighters. They lost their sight saving our clubhouse from a fire last year, so we always let them play for free anytime..' The group fell silent for a moment. The Priest said, 'That's so sad. I think I will say a special prayer for them tonight.' The Indian Doctor said, 'Good idea. I'm going to contact my ophthalmologist colleague and see if there's anything he can do for them.' The Chinese Businessman replied, 'I think I'll donate $50,000 to the fire-fighters in honour of these brave souls' The Aussie said, 'Why the f*&k can't they play at night?'

  21. Clouds breaking and just starting to brighten up, a brisk south wind.
  22. Broken cloud with a fresh E/S/E wind
  23. Management or pigeon? I believe when your both in sync with each other results follow. Its no good trying to improve your stock without trying to improve yourself as a fancier, both are equally important. Luck doesn’t play any part in pigeon racing. Start believing yourself and your pigeons being unlucky is a ready made excuse. To say you were unlucky not to win in my eyes makes the winner lucky and that’s just not the case. There’s a reason why your pigeons were behind and your better of trying to find the cause than cursing your bad luck.
  24. Divide the yards per minute of your bird by 29.33 to get MPH
  25. I would like to see Spain win just to show our FA that players aint got to be 6' tall and built like brick shithouses to win anything.
