I think winter form is a myth. The cocks and hens are in most cases split and exercised seperate so the eagerness to hang around the loft lessons, they exercise freely but I wouldn't confuse this with form.

My club do a swindle where you have to guess the first 3 members in the correct order that time in. A £1 a week each goes in the kitty until its won. £300-£400 to the winner isn't uncommon.

Show your keen, accept defeat gracefully, put as many pigeons through on marking nights as you can, it wont go unnoticed. You may find you'll be taken under someone’s wing, some decent y/birds offered may even come your way. Set yourself some realistic targets and don’t take your eye of the ball. It's a hard game and rewards to start with are small but stck in there and your day will come. Good luck.

Take note if its a very keen hen sitting or a cock thats not bothered to much sitting. If racing natural this will give you a clue as to which one to send it that nesting condition.
