A good fancier with good pigeons living in a good position will beat a good fancier with good pigeons living in a poor position more times than not. On paper the fanciers pigeons in the better position would appear the better of the two but they're not. Never underestimate position in sprint racing.
OK here he comes....... you's on the perches fluff yourselves up and look sorry for yourselves......... Ginger you start limping...... Titch you droop one of your wings........ bit of luck he wont send us this week.
Two from 15mile, two from 20mile and around ten from 45mile before the first race, dropped 1 from 42 & 1 smashed up. Have had three races and have trained 2-3 times a week from 45mile between races and yet to drop a pigeon sending 40 each week.
I don't think it anything to do with mobile phone/TV/radar or airport signals....why? because I would say London and the surrounding area's are the most densely populated in the UK = more mobiles/ TV's/ airports/defence etc. per sq. mile and our losses are nowhere near that of which I'm reading about on this forum.
I don't think distance matters its the experience of racing that counts for more. Locally everyone I know of that have just trained up their youngsters and not raced them in the year of their birth have dropped them big time as yearling's.
