Fog has lifted too blue skies, looks like were in for a scorcher

The more times I finish in the top 1% of fed/amal/combine results the more consistent my season has been.

Symptoms are swelling of joints (mainly ankle joints) a dropped wing, eggs that fail to hatch (so called black eggs because the chick dies in the shell). If Paratyphoid is suspected its a vet job, best to send a pigeon rather than just droppings. The vet will check for Paratyphoid via a culture test.

Paratyphoid is just about the worse thing that can hit a flock of pigeons. Whilst I dont advocate vaccinating against this I would advise anyone that have brought several pigeons in to give them a 14 day course of treatment against it, especially if they've been bought in from more than one loft. A negative result from a droppings test doesn't guarantee your pigeons a free from paratyphoid, each individual pigeons has to be tested several times as they dont always pass the bacteria in their droppings. No pigeon is immune to worms so I would advice treating against these. Canker: some treat some dont, I'm one of those that dont.

Late January is the norm for me. I believe the would be yearlings that were raced on darkness as youngsters benefit from that extra bit of rest.

I think its also worth mentioning that giving pigeons probiotics with tap water also has a negative effect.

There's some medicines that instruct you not to use tap water but use deionised water, Ornicure http://www.oropharma.nl/gauss/Pages/EN/Duiven/Producten/Ornicure.htm is one such medicine. I also believed letting water stand for 24 hours dissipated the chlorine but IB put a post on here some time back stating that most water authorities now use a different chemical other than chlorine which doesn't dissipate or if it does it does so at a much slower rate. Whether this chemical renders medicines useless I dont know.
