  1. Another disservice the continentals have done to us. I would love to see a ban on imports.

    Advice Please!

I'd go along these lines, future first. If they've not cast any flights up to yet you'll be able to do a good part of your programme. Once they've cast their 5th stop them then.
  3. A fine start to the day here in the South East .

  10. As I've just taken the youngsters away I'm In the process of changing the w/hood team feed, switching from a breeding mix to a 50/50 w/h & depurative mix (this'll take around 6 days). No training done as to yet, weather permitting I'll give them 2 or 3 tosses next week then into the first race. Feeding: forget measures! ........... let the barley in their feed be your guide.
  11. Step by step guide to obtaining a loft location using Google Earth as permitted by RPRA rule 187. 1. Open Google Earth 2. In the “Fly to†box (top left) type the postcode (or nearest) of the location to be obtained 3. Click on the magnifying glass to begin the search 4. The search will begin and you will be taken to the area required 5. Use the mouse roller or vertical slider on the right of the screen to zoom in until you find the required location. If the map has moved use the left mouse button to drag it back. 6. Click on the “Add place mark†pin at the top of the screen (Yellow Pin) 7. A “New place mark†dialogue box and a pin in a flashing box will appear on screen 8. Click on the pin and drag it to the required loft location. 9. Type the name and loft number of the member in the top of the “New placement†dialogue box. DO NOT CLICK ‘OK’. 10.Print screen by holding down the shift key and pressing the Print Screen key (usually found to the right of the F12 key). 11.Open a new Word document and paste (Ctrl V) the Google print here. 12.Choose a location such as a folder and click “Saveâ€. 13.Print the Google map on landscape paper (to show as much detail as possible). 14.The print MUST be signed by the club secretary and sent to Racing Support at The Reddings for conversion to Ordnance Survey, together with a payment of £3.08 and a stamped addressed envelope. IMPORTANT: ï‚· Google Earth locations are not permitted for use until they are converted to Ordnance Survey (OS) by RPRA Headquarters ï‚· This method can be used as well as OS maps and is not a replacement system. ï‚· Prints from any other websites other than Google Earth are not acceptable. (A downloadable copy of this procedure is now available on the RPRA Website) http://www.rpra.org/...abid=63&mid=449

  24. I think flying youngsters on the darkness suits our seasons along with being where were situated in the northern hemisphere, it just seems to work for us best. I wouldn't entertain the light system even if it was far superior than any other system simply because I dont like the idea of having to cut and pull their last flights. Fanciers that work can get around lightening and darkening their lofts simply by using lights, no need for hired hands.
  25. you could try giving them a pair fertile eggs to sit and let them go through the process of rearing. By doing this it could kickstart their hormones proper.
