  1. yes thats different ur £100 is subs, the fife fed is £143, £20 of which is for subs or fees, the other £123 is advance payment for sending birds to races, and this in my mind is the big mistake, if the had put it all down as fees and u get so many birds free then possibly it could have been legal, but its £123 advance payment for races, which u might not even go to, and its no limit all pay the same whether u put 10 or 100 birds, i think this is the big problem. charging u for something u may not take part in, or if bad weather they may not be able to give.
  2. not wanting to keep on about this me, but u say its just having us pay for our birds in a slightly different way, each week even if we dont go, we pay for 30 birds (if you put 80 away u pay for 30) i wouldn't call that a slight change, if u only put 10 away u pay for 30, if there is no race for bad weather or something and birds dont go u pay for 30, slight change???????
  3. IN MY YOUNGER DAYS KEPT RACED PIGEONS, WORKED 7 DAYS A WEEK 12 HOURS A DAY. EXCEPT SATURDAY U WORKED 5 HOURS. AND THAT WAS WEEK ABOUT NIGHT SHIFT AND DAYSHIFT,
  4. cheers me after all i think the majority of us just want to race our birds, and my thought were yes it was the way it was done, but all the best, lets hope we get good racing.
  5. yes me, but surely the norm was for fees which there is no problem with, but birdage yes normal payment for each bird u enter in a race etc, but to pay for birds and races u may not even go to in not the normal procedure, it is a big change, so members should have known about it as a proposal, it was not even memtioned to the management committee at their pre agm meeting, when proposals and finance are discussed and the committee put in a proposal regarding this, and was on the agenda and was not put against any proposals or even brought up, surely democracy is for all to get a say, not only a few knowing about it and others not, thats why the rule regarding this is QUOTE : "WHERE ANY MEMBER WISHES TO ALTER, DELETE OR ADD TO ANY RECOGNISED ORGANISED ACTIVITIES, NOTICE OF SAME MUST BE GIVEN 28 DAYS BEFORE THE AGM
  6. 2 nice lofts.
  7. its not democratic when only a few know about proposals going to be put forward at an agm, and the management committee puts a proposal in and its on the agenda and is not even mentioned at the agm, DEMOCRATIC ???????
  8. bird looks good swilcox will get photos of the pair i got and put them up.
  9. loved the hen so much swilcox i went back the next day (U WERE STILL ABSENT) and got a cock for her from the same breeding so have the pair now.
  10. yes but this was a ccomplete change in the way birdage is to be paid, and not birdage payment as usual but a one off payment for each race no limit on birds, SHU rule for AGMs, "WHERE ANY MEMBER WISHES TO ALTER , DELETE OR ADD TO ANY RECOCNISED ORGANISED ACTIVITIES
  11. but the status quo wasn't even brought into it or mentioned.
  12. i got a g/daughter of" DE LIGTENBERG" at blackpool. bred from a daughter and son of "DE LIGTENBERG"
  13. ON THE FIDDLE AGAIN ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  14. well said dandydoo, but i think its going to be too late to do anything, i still say when union Councilors break the rules the union should pull them up, as they are supposed to be there to see that rules are obayed not broken, and as union councilors should know the rules, if the shu let this pass then its not saying much for them as a governing body, and nobody should have to appeal, they know about it and its their councilors responsible.
  15. but the officials who done this are SHU COUNCILLORS, so what does that say of the SHU, if they can't abide by the rules who can. they should be showing an example, not breaking them.
  16. i think if 2 SHU councillors get away with braking the rules as was done in the fife fed, the ones that should be doing something is the shu as they are the ruling body, and 2 of there councillors are showing a bad example are they not, taking proposals from the body of the hall at an AGM, and having 3 of them taking the voting, hands up for 1, hands up for 2, hands up for 3, the counts were 13, 27, 28, right 28 wins, nothing about going against the status quo or anything, but u dont take 3 proposals like that one must go against the other with the later going against status quo, how do they know hopw many times people were putting there hands up, also 2 of those proposals werre known before the agm but were too late in as per shu rules, 28 days before agm, a fed council meeting was held 2 weeks before the agm to go over proposals etc, and the finances, which was done and the council put in a proposal for agm to deal with this, it was on the agenda but was not even brought up, an insult to the management committee of the fed in my book, and the other proposals in qiestion were never mentioned to the council, and one was from the auditor so the officials must have known then, what it boiled down to was the members who new about the proposal, (And they new as it was discussed prior to agm) were there in force to get it through, they should have been on the agenda, and officials and shu councillors know that. PS. how can the SHU our governing body be run properly when its COUNCILLORS are getting away with this, so i think it should be of interest to all shu members not just fife fed.
