I have a degree in Eletrical Engineering, I have built and designed 15 million pounds of new state of the art machinary including the worlds biggest mega shredder but most importantly i have been a pigeon fancier for 29 of my 35 years, i care and i believe we have a future.

With the news that Peter Bryant is stepping down as General Manager do you think a younger pigeon fancier like myself could steer UK pigeon racing in the future? and do you think i would get support from the old guard? My policies would include the following; 1) RPRA organised National racing that will be flown in 3 different distance bands with narrow sections from 3 different race points. Highest velocity from 3 races would win a gold cup and all races to be flown in the Golden Series and winner crowned the National Champion plus provisional champions etc. 2) No alternative racing to take place on National weekends. Feds and combines to be supported in co-orinating a short distance program, combines and feds to assist in transport on National events 3) RPRA to co-operate with the BICC, NFC, MNFC, NWGN and UNC to co-ordinate and stucture a race program to reduce cost and increase resources and PR. 4) RPRA to co-ordinate membership applications to clubs. 5) establish an indipendent body to audit One Loft Races. 6) Implement a clearer and more rewardable system to reconise National Ace Pigeons and Fanciers. 7) The diversion of Charitable funds to a trust fund to support Pigeon Racing in the Future. 8) An incentive program to help retired people back into the sport. 9) A commercial commitee to investigate commplaints on selling and advertising pigeons etc. 10) To reduce costs set up a common England/wales/scotland/ireland administration centre. 11) Liberation Coordinator to be recruited for yb racing. 12) Transport Coordinator to be recruited to reduce costs and arrange a economic transport system. The only reason Raymonds Pigeons comes to the UK is, "I bring them", as we are partners its obvious that i would want to promote his birds here, we still sell the majority in Holland/Germany, with some going to the Far East, South Africa,USA and Portugal.

My comment was coming from this angle, Why buy something that is so easily available when both of you are only interested in selling?? The idea is to bring birds to the fancy that are not easily available, that way you are providing a really useful service. If people wanted Beverdam Meulemans they would go Herman!!!! Now if you were to offer Koopman, Verkerk, Vredeveld or Zwols that would be different as they are so easy to obtain!!! Only an Observation Stuart

Sorry Delboy i missed your post. The first long distance pigeons sold were in 2006 so some fanciers will be going to 500 miles with 2 year old this year!!!! Fanciers such as Gordon Bullock timed yearlings off Tarbes NFC in the top 100 this year, as did Richard Grayson Flying 150 miles farther than most. Most People got them to 400 miles where they scored. Ofcourse it takes time for any distance family to take hold and i believe these will, i have 16 pairs of them and i have chucked the barn door at them and only droped 29 from 32 which im very happy with and they have won plenty along the way. If i wanted to Top Distance Pigeons from the UK/my area, two names come to mind S V Miles Peasdown St John and Kieth Nethercott and Sons. Be it on the day or next morning both lofts have never failed at the long end. Stuart
