  1. Look, where you buy your birds from isnt really relevent as long as there from a practicing Pigeon Fancier, that way it all stays within the sport!!! I have just finished doing the WOESRC phone in sale, i managed to get some friends from Holland and Belguim to donate and the average prices made by those foriegn birds is at least double those of the UK donators, not because there better but different and more difficult to get hold of. Stick to buying from Pigeon Fanciers and the wheels of the sport will continue to turn, but saying all that pigeon racing isnt just about money, or buying its about friendship, enjoyment with your birds and waiting on a saturday, those are the things that non fanciers who use the sport as a business dont appreciate or care about.
  2. A potential Champion!!! Until the basket proves otherwise.
  3. Been training twice, both times the birds have hammered back and each time just one missing, today the peregrine hit into them a few secounds after they took to there air. So two of my warriors down already thanks to the hawk. I will be glad when the first race comes along!!!
  4. Racers breed racers, homers breed homers and show pigeons breeds show pigeons. More importantly history has shown us that Winners breed Winners maybe skipping the odd generation but they are in there somewhere.t Stuart
  5. David Get him used to eating twice a day only now and dont put to much in front of him at any one time that way he wont hit it all over the floor, he does look much better!!!! Well done i think you have gone along way to saving "Basics Boy". Stuart
  6. I bought them in last year but the misses eat them, bloody Brazilians

I was reffering to the original response by xtccock!!!
  9. Gangster Do they win in the show pen as well
  10. A top player or a top seller??? There is a big differance!!!!! Anyway like you say Trust goes along way and you have made your investment and you sound happy with it and thats the most important thing, i have made mine and will work hard in the future to ensure i get the success i crave. On thing i will be is proud and im very proud of the pigeons that i have selected for fellow fanciers in the UK where ever there origin. Just to pick you up on one thing its not only me who says how good Raymonds pigeons are but the many who flys them. Dont be frighten to listen to others views Timbarra the game isnt so black and white as some paint it.
  11. Timbarra, dont worry mate i dont see it as an arguement just trading views
  12. The Brazilian pigeons will be added to mine and Raymonds joint gene pool we together are always looking for an edge not just against fancier here but in Holland too, remember Timbarra we are partners, 50 - 50. You talk about selection and foriegn birds etc etc but if you are not racing this year then your sleection will never be so good as mine because i will use Mr Basket. P.S one thing you will not find in a dutch loft is a beverdam pigeon, but ask around and you will find many many Dutch fanciers fly our distance pigeons 8) Think you may have backed the wrong horse.
  13. Timbarra, how many races will you be sending to this season??
  14. I dont believe it matters what country you buy your birds from as long as there from a pigeon fancier who flys pigeons on a weekly basis and supports the sport in his local area. I have some knowledge of a super fancier in Brazil who has won 3 years on the trot the longest race of 1100km through the mountains of Minus Gerias, i with the same pigeon, with that knowledge i visited him and i have now purchased that pigeon with the hope he will give my colony the edge over you guys!!!! Class can come from anywhere!!! Stuart
  15. The world has changed and maybe pigeon racing has changed in line with that and its certainly in decline nobody can argue that. In this day and age with such high taxes and cost of living many seek to fund there hobby by selling a few birds or promoting One Loft Races. I dont believe my actions have damaged the sport in any way and why, because 1st and formost im a pigeon fancier and any money that im lucky to make will be put back into racing. Most of my profit will be used to send a nice team to the NFC races this year. Now there are a merry band of people who are like leaches on the back of the sport, they are non-fanciers, they dont race many arent even members of a club, they charge high prices and often sell crap. There money goes out the sport, but its up the you to find these people out and most of all dont buy off them. IF YOU WANT TO PROMOTE PIGEON RACING THEN ALWAYS BUY FROM A FLYING PIGEON FANCIERS AND NOT NONE FANCIERS USING THE SPORT AS AN EXTRA INCOME. Stuart

  18. Very true chriss, they all fly in the same direction, we have too many who search the easiest way to win rather than the ultimate test for there birds.
  19. Im hoping David will come over the club on a friday and get involved a little.
  20. Mikkey There isnt and thats where are problems lye, there isnt a prestige event in the uk where we all send and the winner is held in the highest order. Belguim has Bourges 70,000b and Barcelona 30,000b. The Dutch have Orleans (now le mans/ablis) 100,000b and Saint Vincent 38,000b The UK have 30 different races with 1000 to 3000 birds in yet we have more fanciers.
  21. Lads there isnt any difference in the quality of pigeon only competition. The fact is in Holland and Belgium there are much more simple systems, mass liberations, Ace pigeons and true nationals so the champion tend to be undisputed if you like. We have such a complicated racing system in the UK its hard to really tell who who!!!!! We would even agree on this countrys blue chip race. Stuart
  22. Happy Birthday Gerr
  23. You can have a mate but i suggest we mate until he is better of the 2nd pigeon may get sick too. Stuart
  24. They are based on Harm Vredeveld and Gaby from Liedeman Bros (PR manager for Koopman) with a little Lowieke and Koopman blood in.
  25. I think has shown why on the Kitchen thread.
