I have a few young birds if anybody wants them.They are all rung and have not been raced and are off good birds.I have been gifted birds in the past so i would like to give some back to the fancy.

Excellent post.My opinion on the subject of getting new members to join the club is to make it simpler to join,and i mean NEW first time racing fanciers.As long as the birds are in their name,vaccinated,within the club boundry and have a grid ref.of their loft position, the club should take it from there to explain all the rest of the fees involved,most of which can be done without any extra work to the club.Do away with having to send in an application form and having to wait until you are accepted or not so you can race your birds the next year,tell them to come over to the race marking and clock opening and explain all that's going on and make them welcome.Make it SIMPLE to join.

What do you think of training young birds?is it necessary.Only asking because no matter how far they are taken,5,10,20 miles,and in any direction,there are always some missing or they take hours or days to return in drips and drabs.They are flying well at home and range and all are fit.First race is about 70 miles,would you put them in without any road training,safety in numbers springs to mind.

Hi all,just a question about the T3.How do i tell how old it is?Is it the number on the side?My one has the 4 figure number with 07 underneath,is that the year of manufacture?Also is it ok to use with the service triangle symbol flashing and could this mean that there is not much life left in the battery?

Got a couple of youngsters in the nest just now,one of them has feather well down the legs and possibly showing on the toes.I got the parents from friends and there's no strain names mentioned,just their own families of birds that they have had for years.I was just wondering if there was any particular strain of birds in the past that were noted for their feathered legs.
