  1. I have used it for last 2 years its good stuff birds always look well on it and feather quality is improved, i have not had yb sickness neither since being on it, i must say as i told bakes its no good giving it willy nilly you must use it every day to see the results and get it into ther system

  4. Thanks for the replies and offers of help and advice, also thanks to those that have pmd me it gives me great comfort that people out there are willing to go the extra mile to help people out, I am going to take a good hard look at things and then decide where to go, I wont rush into anything and do something i might regret ONCE AGAIN THANKYOU
  5. Lindsay i am by sounds of it similar to you a few good weeks then bang for no reason it goes and i get really bad muscle spasms and have to go on diazepam and tramadol which usually ease it after 3-5 days. I have got one younglad started this year who has offered to help out at weekends and its greatly appreciated but i live a bit away from him so its not ideal
  6. Thanks for the advice folks, i have got ets and do use easibed on floors which does cut workload down, as regards a partner if anyone out there wants to join me thats fine i live just outside Atherstone in warwickshire, as regards a partnership no-one needs to worry about costs as i will pay for everything if it means the birds stay and we become competetive again
  7. Can you folks out there help me out with a decision i need to make? once again i find myself laid up with my back problem and quite honestly i have had enough after not racing the old birds properly due to same problem then managing a few youngbird races managing to top fed which gave me a massive lift, i now find myself back to square one and relying on my teenage daughter to feed and water them if someone came along now i would let them take the lot. Has anyone out there got any suggestions to make life easier and more importantly to remain competetive when laid up? all advice welcome cheers stan
  8. the T2 is a perfectly good clock it is a quartz clock the T3 is the updated versionof it , the T2 uses the same printer as the T3 the major difference is that it is set as a running clock and does not zero in to the nearest minute like the T3 does my T2 keeps better time than my T3 any questions put them on and i will be happy to try and answer them i have been setting clocks as long as i have had pigeons

    FASTING

i am pretty sure that geoff kirkland adopts this system with his hens during the winter prior to pairing up i just remember reading or seeing it on a video maybe someone else can confirm this
  10. I use easibed and only change it once a year i rake it over every week and top it up with some new easibed since doing this birds look well on it and no youngbird sickness the floor underneath is bone dry, ask Bakes on this site how well the birds look on it also cuts workload down as i struggle to bend down to scrape out floors
  11. thanks for the nice comments lads i will always try to help anyone out if i can and its pleasing to see others doing well or getting enjoyment out of my birds or advice its just a shame i cant do more because of this problem with my back, all best to friends old and new

  17. It was a decent sale birds did not fetch as much as i thought they would go for I got lot 3 for my pal for a third of what he was prepared to pay and its a cracker nice to see a few old faces and have a chat all best stan
  18. Its in the big concert room its a nice venue plenty of room and good beer at cheap prices will see you there john and everyone else whos going
  19. John there is no reason at all not to buy a so called cross, my reasons being as follows 1. it will add hybrid vigour to your birds 2. there is no such thing as a pure bred 3.its carrying the genes of winners 4.if the bird fits in with my ideas of conformation type and its parents ancestors have performed at the distance i want then its a no brainer i would buy it too much emphasis on bits of paper instead of looking at the bigger picture my best ever channel pigeon was a busschaert x stragg say no more
  20. I will be there helping out at the auction as its at held at the Trent valley, look forward to seeing you all there it promises to be a good night stan
  21. given the choice I would sooner pay a bit extra and have my own crates on the fed wagon with just my birds in and if everyone else wants theirs in with each others thats fine, i think if we adopted this system it would catch on and less disease will be spread, its crazy that someone can have birds ill this week then same fancier can put his birds in with everyone elses the next , look at the one loft races they have had all sorts of problems due to mixing birds from all over the place, in fact i am going to make a proposal for our fed next year that members will be allowed to pay for their own crates on the wagon
