  1. mine are all ready basket trained now going through the traps with 1blow of the whistle they are in the hut & same with geting em in the basket,train from 2miles let go in small numbers no more than 6/10 in each team with small gaps in between
  2. well 2weeks to go til first open race my cocks trained for last few weeks food days only 5miles working upto 12 miles max

  8. well mine will be trained to come home as soon as birds are kitting together all young no weaned now learning to feed in basket also to basket them selves

  10. ive always used open door method as birds always trap straight onto there boxes. with ybs i ahve a small passage with sputnik traps of which i pit a bar accross on race days works well for me which my dad has used for over 25years
  11. ive lost 3over the last few months 1stock bird 1fantail & 1of my best distance birds all during the breeding should all stop now with a bit of luck as the only time the birds come out is to excercise then straight in my only concern now is all the young that have just been moved as they have no chance to get away till they fly!

  14. are but the tosses are from 5miles working upto 12miles week befor racing & only on nice days & they only come out am & do 45mins & yeah will go right through the race programme with winning results i paired far later than normal this year all young weaned & single reared all coming together nicely now

  18. i use deep litter only use in the nest boxes & once i wean the young a small section or the floor has deep litter of shavings & straw a,along with a basket also filled with the same which i feed & put drinker on the deep litter remains till all young have perched up
  19. ive had 2friends 1buy distance & the other buy sprint & both winninig the opisite to what they bought!!! my dad bought hermans years ago which are suppoesed to be sprinters & dad sold some which turened out to win both sprint & distance but mainly at the distance race the first one he bought was named golden girl all off her won at distance and to this day some are still doing the works for me

  22. well if it too cold & dont feel yearlings are up for it then best thing is to not send em yearling won our first race last year our first race is the 15th april with an open race the week before
