ive never known then to cxl a race it just saves a day in the basket the forecast has to be realy bad for them to delay the the race if theres any chance of a race they will go fridays as normal

we dont cxl the race we just delay the race for 1day to stop a hold over!!!

we payed markers 35p per loft per week they were guys who are retiered therefore more time to arrange baskets & stuff they were members yes

good points raised like someone said you cant make them turn up if thre are no rules also as they fly in another club they may have rules in place hence they go there also with a father & son partnership it can be hard to be in 2 places at once. think in every club you have people who do more than others but thats pigeon racing for you!! we use to have about 6/8 markers who do the marking every week & they get the marking money at end of seaon this worked realy well now with being a club geting more pompetativewe all muck in & some members like to put other peoples birds in to see how they handle ect

what i mentioned about starts right from the nest when ever i feed my old birds i blow a whistle the yb soon learn that this means food!! as from then when ever i blow the whistle they must be given food after weaning i feed them in the basket again blowing the whistle they soon learn to basket them selves when all in i close the flaps 40 birds in the basket in less than 30 seconds i make my birds tame from being in the nest then after weaning sit with them while feeding geting use to your hands & movements ect regarding the whistle this also works when birds are out flying couple of blows of the whistle & they are all in the loft

fair comment about catching them & to see if they feel ok,but if they are flying theres nothing wrong with em basketing them selfs saves time when you have over 40 to catch! they are very tame i can pick any of them up without chaseing this is done from young being in the nest then sitting with them from being weaned
