  1. Have used these plastic ones before.......the only thing I did before fitting was to smooth off the corners with a file......bit of work, but well worth it !! Another thing I did was to buy myself double the quantity I needed. When cleaning the loft, I simply removed the dirty perch and replaced it with a clean one. I then had the time to clean the soiled perches and allow them to air-dry for next time. Bit more expense I know, but made cleaning out a lot easier for me !!
  2. No way have you or Gary let anybody down. If anything it was a system fault, not human !! I realise that both of you put a lot of time and energy into making this sale a success. In hindsight we can say many things, but what's done is done, and I for one wish to congratulate you both for your valiant efforts, and I know the Help for Heroes charity and its dependants will be overjoyed at the result. So, in closing, congratulations to you Bob and Gary for your brilliant efforts and well done to all those who purchased birds.
  3. Loft looks great, hope you get many years of enjoyment from it.
  4. Posting by Patty Bhoy is spot on. Regardless of whose insurance the laptop is on, you still have your consumer rights intact ( as long as you have receipt ) Return again to Comet, and remember the warranty you have is still with that individual branch, and not the laptop manufacturer.
  5. Good idea, just make sure mesh door is secure when in use.

    site down& sale

Fair enough comment, but why not just let it run from now 'til 9.00pm tomorrow ? Totally agree how important the sale is.
  7. Looks pretty quiet.......what resort is it, and what time of year ??
  8. Maybe their problem was when they went down the 'Everything for Pets' route, and got too big and didn't have the business infrastructure to cope. I have talked to a couple of people in B & R and they will intimate how things are. I was a loyal customer for years, but now am very, very reluctant to buy from them at all. It's a pity, Bill Boddy wouldn't be impressed at the way things are now , I'm sure.
  9. Maybe we have a different ethic over here mate.!! :)
  10. Weather forecasting...............just a multi-million pound guess !!!!!!
  11. Same here mate, never heard of it. In all honesty, the idea is quite jawdropping to me, that any official of a club should be paid. I have been a secretary of a racing club and was secretary, show sec. & treasurer of NISRS (all at the same time) and would not tolerate the thought of being paid for something I loved doing. I wonder is paying a secretary a good or bad thing. Again, I just can't come to terms with the scenario. OMO.
  12. Definitely not sterling board for floor Dave. I know it's less expensive than ply & chipboard, but it's a nightmare to scrape. Not a problem on roof, providing you use enough joists to stop it bowing. Remember, if you have a roof problem, not a big deal to fix or even replace, but you can't do that with a floor. I always use 3/4" or 1" chipboard for floor, the only thing I do is when I have the floor built, is to give it 3 coats of creosote before laying it down. OMO.
  13. If they're happy......you're happy !!!!
  14. If you are a member of a club, the governing body to which it is affiliated, should have a list of approved clocks.

    Thought on Hawks

    Don't Boddy & Ridewood sell them ?
  18. I would say if you are sincerely interested in bidding/buying, send Jargre a PM.
  19. Was invited to judge a few years ago, but declined the offer!! I suppose that's me in their 'bad books' !! ;D ;D
  20. Why are there so many threads hi-jacked with what is usually either absolute nonsense, or attempts to antagonise people. If a lot of these 'hi-jacks' were removed fairly quickly surely this site would be the better for it.OMO.
  21. No problem with YB's bred from Feb pairing. If you're interested in distance racing, give them a few races, maybe to 200 miles, then set them by for next year. With distance birds, you don't want to be knackering them at this YB stage, as they will have to be allowed to mature to be able to tackle the 'distance' . YB's will learn just as much from a few shorter races, than pushing them right through the programme. Putting a YB to too great a distance can be it's un-doing. JMO.
  22. More like looking for a job :(
