    Show Award Cards

Unfortunately I can't order these on-line Brian. When I complete an order, because of my post code, it won't allow the £5.95 post, so the order has to be done by 'phone. I suppose it's that little bit of water making things expensive !!

    Show Award Cards

1st show on 4th November,Pat. Boddy & Ridewood usually charge about £17.00 for carriage. Maybe give them a wee ring today and see if we can get a better, realistic quote. Thanks for your input mate, much appreciated.

Thanks for contact details folks. Sent both of them E-mails, unfortunately no replies. Back to square-1 !!
  5. Coming into contact with other fanciers is a great thing. The autumn and winter period should also be used to its' maximum also. Try to attend a few shows and if possible, when judging is finished, politely explain to the judge that you're a new starter, and see if they'll give you a bit of info on their choice of prize winners. You will also see advertised pigeon 'moots'. Basically, this involves a few (3 or 4)experienced fanciers being invited to a venue to answer questions from what can be a good crowd of fanciers, eager to pick their brains. Don't worry, you're not under any pressure to ask anything, more so to listen and learn !! And READ !! Read everything you can get your hands on over the winter months. Some of the articles you can disregard as too complicated etc. Read these articles, and from them you can adopt your own system. From these you can also get a pictorial view of pigeon lofts. Some of them will strike you as 'palatial', forget them....that's the future !! The system you initially choose can be adjusted where necessary. Don't buy into the 'success from a bottle' club. Clean food, clean water to begin with, and go from there. IMO. Best of luck.

    Show Award Cards

Hi folks Any ideas on show card suppliers ? Leefe's only do set of 4(?) Boddy & Ridewood, laughable carriage !! Any help much appreciated.
  8. Hi Mark Do you have any Show Racer sized rings in your collection? I can gladly give you a couple of rings from 2011 both RPRA and BSRF issued. If you would like a few send PM with details, and I'll get something sorted. Cheers, Paul.
  9. For a 12x6 loft I would have 15 block pillars and possibly 5 or 6 heavy rafters laid before I lay the floor down. Plenty of support to take any 'bounce' out of the floor, and not allow it to 'bow'. Floor needs to be good and solid. OMO.
  10. Thanks Ian.
  11. When's the closing date ?
  12. If you are applying to a club under RPRA ruling, RULE 159 does indeed state that fees should accompany the membership application. Whilst the applicant may not be aware of the amount of money involved exactly, a gesture of goodwill payment could be offered, which is usually enough. You will also note that it also includes the ruling that an application for membership CANNOT be presented at an AGM.

  14. R.I.P Frank Sincerest condolences to Frank Jnr and the family circle.
  15. Not a thing Pat. Just learned to-night that it isn't actually a web site, nothing but a blog site ! Wonder is that down to money again ?
  16. Hi guys Just wondered has anyone got an E-mail address for NIPA to send club result to ?
  17. Well done, great result. Hopefully this will give you both a little bit of cheer over the weekend. Best wishes. Paul.
  18. Please pass on my best wishes. Thinking of you both.
  19. Great stuff.....onwards and upwards to a speedy recovery.
  20. Sincerest best wishes Andy.
  21. Great looking loft mate, and pleased to see that everything has been sorted ! Best wishes and every success to you at your new address.

    How Many

Generally speaking, when an application for membership is put before the meeting, a vote is called 'FOR' the application. After that it's a majority thing. If for example you have a meeting where 20 members are present, the application goes to the members and 11 vote 'FOR' and 9 consequently vote 'AGAINST', it is successful. Majority rules. Not sure if there is an 'APPEAL' procedure you can turn to.
  23. Many thanks to you all for your best wishes.
  24. If it was me, I'd leave him 'til next year. Yearlings can be un-stable at the best of times, he'll have tried his best so far,and after he gets hawked with puncture wound and tail removed, he battles his way home, doesn't he deserve a good break to hopefully give of his best again next year. Surely your racing team won't depend on him being there this year (for what's left of it)? Your choice! OMO.
  25. Thanks for that mate.
