  1. 'morning all
  2. Sounds good....with a bit of adaption for our club !!
  3. I know what you're saying about 'a bit of imagination' Andy, but I was getting a bit bogged down ! Looks like your input has given me something to give serious thought to. Cheers mate.
  4. Already covered that by money from winter shows. Agree.....this is my dilemma !
  5. Already received good sponsorship from them at Christmas show. Didn't want to ask again so early.
  6. I have been thinking of making a bit of a donation of some sort to my own club for the 2015 season. We are a small rural club of only 7 members, and at present we race for neither trophies or prize money, which was the members idea to prevent any bad feelings over money! Within the 7 members there are 3 who are always to the fore, the rest of us are content to make up the numbers. Any ideas, where a little input from me could be best utilised by all ? I'm in a bit of a quandary as to how I can help, if at all, or say nothing and let the status quo.
  7. Have to agree with this. My club has 7 members in total, with maybe only 5 members sending. Another adjacent club has approx. 6 members. Now, when I say adjacent, these 2 clubs are only 3 or 4 miles apart by road and you can drive easily between each one in 10 minutes! One club certainly has no prize or pool money. For the past 2 years, they have come together and racemarked at the same premises....no problem! They came together this year and held a series of shows to help with transport costs, and raised a 4 figure sum. A brilliant effort, and obviously an example of how they can work successfully together. However, mention the thought of combining into a single stronger club, and things go south very quickly. People talk about historic sentiments associated with their club etc. etc. I suggested the 'easy' way around that, would be to disband both clubs and immediately reform under a new name. No chance !! I can't understand it. Are we to remain in this surviving and precarious state or be more pro-active before disaster occurs ? It's beyond me, or is it just me, seeing a doubtful future ?
  8. Who me Andy ?? LOL Honest as the day's long me !
  9. Well, we've come to the last day to do my self-assessment for both income tax & NIC. What an absolute pain to do, and a big millstone for me. So many un-necessary questions it's unbelievable ! Anyhow, plenty of coffee and ciggies in stock so we'll make a start me thinks !!
  10. Just thought of something else ! Years ago the RP had a system called 'Pigeons for Youth' could that be something to be considered ?
  11. 'Advertising' is a very, very powerful medium in totality. However we must always bear in mind it is, in itself, a huge banner which covers so many ways of 'getting the word out'. A small sticker in/on your car....Advertising! (How many stickers could have been circulated at Blackpool ?) Wearing a slogan T-Shirt....Advertising! Leaving a couple of weekly / monthly periodicals in public waiting rooms......Advertising! Laminated posters in strategic public places......Advertising! These are just a few examples of ways you have to think in getting a message across, yet keeping it widespread and cost effective. 'Advertising' doesn't have to cost a fortune to gain major coverage, just a bit of thinking outside the 'box', and a willing group of people involved, and pro-active ! PIGEON BASICS are in a position to consider the possibility of a 'Promotion Fund' to get things going, and don't forget, all items used could carry the PB logo. I suppose the saying of 'Promotion from within' could apply, and if we as a group, were to be active as a group, surely it will be our way of helping promotion of the sport. I for one would put my name forward to act as Co-Ordinator for such a campaign, dependant, of course, on the members re-action. Sincerely Paul Chatterton.
  12. Just back from my supplier Cyril Beattie....Versela Laga Best All Round....£12.00 per bag. I also noticed a sign saying that all their own mixtures were down in price. Nice to see him trying his best on prices !!
  13. Makes sense Pat.....no problem.
  14. Is this what you're trying to make ?
  15. Whilst I would guess the answer would be ASAP, is there a maximum time delay from dropping produced to microscope test being carried out ?
  16. Pallat's.......great service, and I only pay £3.95 carriage to here. Excellent !!
  17. Interesting comments about Y.B's.

    Predator Attack.

When you phoned this evening, I didn't expect the terrible news you were bearing. I don't like to hear of these tragedies at the best and worst of times, but when it's a good, good friend it happens to, well it takes you to a different place altogether. I know with your neighbours help things will be rectified over the next few nights. Naturally I talked to Lorraine, and she also sends love and best wishes in getting the thing sorted out. Anyhow, mate, I'll sign off leaving you my best wishes, and don't worry about the Dordins, we'll have a chat about them when you're in a better frame of mind
  21. Any more results BIS , BOS etc ?
  22. Am so, so pleased you have decided to go down this path. We've discussed it from all possible angles mate, and all looks good. The arrival of the new router will add another string to your bow as well. Can't wait to see future items you'll produce !! What you do also have is the ability to make all your products of a bespoke nature, and this has, and will, hold you in great stead for the future. Your enthusiasm and ability will ensure a positive future, of that I have no doubt. 2015 will be a great year for you, and simply heralds an amazing start to what will be long term success. Sincerest best wishes. Paul.
