  2. bought in the vander merwe pigeons,i think there the best birds to come into this country at the moment, only time will tell, but for the results a few have got who already has flown them i think theres yet better things to come from them yet. Les
  3. i think everone one has had a special champion in there lofts in there own eyes, especially when you first start up racing and 1 keeps coming home for you to clock in and run down to the club with your clock, but wow some real champs mentioned here without a doubt. les
  4. theres better ways i think than pulling flights out of youngsters, there only young for 1 season, and many more seasons to come.they use to say if you flew darkness has youngsters they never won has yearlings, how wrong they were. les
  5. ilet my youngsters go on the house roof ,i carnt stop them has my house is only a couple of feet away from my house, ive lost more races with them doing this, including top fed positions,it pisses you off when it happens but has yearlings they are different birds, its all about learning them steady has you could kill some top youngsters when they dont do has there told, believe me there different has yearlings, but if they do the same has yearlings then its time to cut there snaop down and start training them hard and getting a system into them.anyway once racing starts with youngsters and they have been in the basket over night 9times out of ten they will come down but have you noticed its always your first arrival thats stubborn and losses that vital position for you, good luck everyone. les
  6. Whats that suppose to mean you knob, were talking about class pigeons not show pigeons, dont pull me down matey has one day i might just come across you,has the prevous posts say, there always someone on here to cause bother. les
  7. hi bob,i use to go to andy kazozecks on many occations and had pigeond down from schallie bange from andy they bred many winners and one which was a gift bird from andy was g,sire to our 2000 combine winner 215mls. les
  8. yes its true, there two flights that grow from the same follicle, its not inbreeding but is brought dowm through the family thats all, this cock passed it down at least 7 generations. les
  9. the cock in my picture had 11 flights in each wing,he bred them with 11 flights aswell, bred 21x1sts g,sire to many more top pigeons. les
  10. well done, top bloodlines and thats what we all need, not good looking birds,my best ever racer was so ugly i wanted to get rid of him but he just kept winning prizes. les
  11. my shallie cock, double g,son of T shalkie of bert braspennings.
  12. just sent it to you bud. les
  13. there still leaving arendonk, fanciers still go there, not has many now has theres many around who have carried on with the pure janssens and i my eyes made them better than most of the originals. les
  14. same here, always feed them, especially when rearing youngsters, les
  15. its going about,a bloke who ivw got to know phoned me saying his birds have para and upto now theres quit a few died and he says its running slowly through his lofts.but hes confused has he hasnt a clue were it came from in the first place. les
  16. Todays top winners are healthy pigeons and to keep them healthy you need to be on top of them at all times and pigeons pick all sorts up in the race baskets,ie cocci canker worms etc etc etc,so yes i do treat through the season,it dusnt make them poorly it keeps them healthy and free from disease,so i guess theres many who do treat but theres those that dont,it upto them ,but when there loosing there birds then its time to ask themselves why. les
  17. Ray Forbes,john salt,gary daykin,they all have good ones,oh nigel laycock aswell,lists could go on,they all have top sootjens,but in scotland i havnt a clue,good luck. les
  18. i started racing in 1987 ,scored in the first young bird race and thought wow this is easy, then after that i was last every race,in that winter months i read everythink i could on racing pigeons and feeding systems, plus handling good pigeons,i tried widowhood year after with 5 cocks and 5 hens and won 2 races, learning ,learning and more learning makes you better, there always somethink to learn and with the throat if its not right then to me its ailing somethink, the throat will tell you if its well or not, same with the eye and feathers. les
  19. if you have a good team ,race them bud but what are you going to do ,race darkness or natural,if darkness fly them through if natural 140mls and stop them to moult through. les
  20. even better on round about,at least your going to race hens aswell,if there a new breed and trying them race them all bud,if there good the best ones will race well. les
  21. i would keep them training at 15mls has many times has youcan then give them around 5 at 30 miles, race them on widowhood and they will do well for you, young birds dont need to be raced to win has yearlings, ive had some good ones in the past that have never seen even a basket has youngsters,no1 priority is healthy birds. Les
