  1. yes you can,fly them on dual widowhood, race the cocks and hens and only race the hens once a fortnight and get them geared up for the distance slowly getting them fitter with the jumping of races you will be doing, good widowhood hens will beat natural hens at the distanceive seen this in a lot of top lofts.Hope this helps.
  2. Hi All ive updated my website and even though its still under construction with a few more to add and changes,i thought that fanciers might be interested in a look. cheers,Les schouwman71pigeons.piczo.com
  3. id say widowhood, its easier and cleaner in the loft,a new starter with old birds will have enouth to watch and do without making things harder, put them on widowhood and advance from there and learn to do it your way. Les
  4. iodine is a great tonic,if used carefully,it is not somethink that shows up on the outside of the pigeon, but if combined with another mixture works very well,i use iodine once a week in winter and the birds are fantastic and healthy, its used in the product "impact" by gem supplements and is also a good tonic aswell.
  5. Ron williams, just look on what his birds have to cross and fly to get home and win agains thousands, also M&D Evans, they have won everythink that there is to win including many national top performances. But there many more aces out there, think the small team fanciers are greater than the big team men.Look at those belguim fanciers, only the big team men get there peformances mentioned ,not the small team fanciers who still can finish in the top 10% of races.
  6. i like floor grills and the health on the birds with them is good, but i think they are charging too much for them has you can make them hell of a lot cheaper has to make a 6ft x 4ft will cost about £8 if you get your stuff from a wood yard.
  7. got kids, plus finished late from work but in with the missus and friends so its all fun. ;D
  8. Would be nice to have a go in the near future, but has i am still forming my loft i would like to find out my best breeders first, then it will be the eropa first i think.

  11. Ime not trying to achieve nothink,i was just asking how many people do this type of breeding, read what i first wrote,i wasnt acting on my own breeding tecniques. ;D ;D
  12. Gemthepax, now thats a product ive used for the very first time this year,i started to use this after i saw the condition of a mates birds and even though hes not the best on cleaning out his birds were well,i started using it and after a week or so sawthe difference in them,To me this does the exactly the same as flight path but not as expensive,(Good pigeons will always win.) Plus i wouldnt buy flight path has its to expensive and won without using it in the past.
  13. Still need to get down to eight pairs, the ones i have still are 100% top quality but still sadly need to part with 2 pairs in the near future, before i pair up,but how do you sort pigeons out when you have good stock birds, thats why many get over crowded has it is hard for small team fanciers like myself to keep them.I sold some on here a few weeks ago and i definatly would not have let them go if i had the room to keep them. But back to the original question ,yes i do think you need a stock team has this is the loft were all your experiments are carried out. Les
  14. if everthink what was wrote on a bottle worked there wouldnt need to be so many wonder products about,i think the more crap you give your birds the worse they performe and then at the end of the year we blame the birds for been crap and get rid, make you think eh
  15. How far can you keep breeding within an inbred-linebred family of pigeons and keep up breeding winners out of them, has anybody done this for years with a family of pigeons that has come down from the same origine or are they still doing it and having success.
  16. was told that there were some theo guilbert blood running through them aswell, but i mentioned to timbarra that there were alexandra hanseene blood in them but said none of his belguim friends have found nothink out yet.But i guess us british are more keener of the origin of breeds more than the belguims are.Silverwings has some great knowledge on them has it was him that told me.

  21. A friend of mine works for amtrak and he ses the trouble with some of the drivers is that they do not put the labels on the boxes and input the info in there hand held computer they have,i always write the address on a piece of paper and stick it on the side of the box, never had any trouble when i have sent them out from this end,has rodders says he got his okay from me.
