    some birds

i wish use would tell people the truth they look alright but they are no where race condition sorry to be frank with you wings
  2. you've got the scottish central combine
  3. i think a lot of it's to do with birds that are not 100% health wise, they are disorientated before liberation and head in the wrong direction,to me y/b's are like sheep and will hold onto the company they're flying with,by the time the healthy birds realise they are way of their line which according to birds reported can be up to 200miles away hence exhaustion sets in and dehydration and i also feel that the feeding of the modern day racer doesn't allow for mistakes i.e not enough bodyweight (only talking about y/b's here)
  4. 50-60 still 40 left from last year

  7. if he's split them th've already been paired
  8. feeding is impotant you will need to measure it out approx ounce and a half per bird per day fed over two feeds i.e half ounce morning one ounce evening.when u let them out put the hens out first.to get them started i flag them for 20 mins gradual build up to 1 hr.what i do is once they get the message that as long as the flags are up they don't come down, then i can go in and clean the hens section out. After the hens have been flying for about 50 mins i walk the cocks thru to the hens section and shut the doo. then go back out take the flags down with a bit of patience the hens soon learn that when the flags come down, they can come down.once thy have landed open the trap and let them in to cocks section.Once their all in shut the trap and let the cocks out and repeat exactly the same.just after uv let the cocks out walk the hens back into there own section where there measure of food should be in the hoppermy cocks are fed in gallipots in their nestbox.this is the basics u can tweak it to suit urself.hope this helps.u can pm me if uv any other questions
  9. ok hopefully the loft is closed off at the front so they can't see each other when their out, they shouldn't be able to see each other when their in their own sections and lastly there should be a doorway of some sort between the 2 sections and are ur hens sitting on v perches or box perches
  10. is there sections next door to one another
  11. is your birds sitting the now
  12. the rats probably the culprit.check round the loft because rats usually chew holes top get into a loft if theres no easy access

  15. brian don't want to knock u down mate ur birds look exceptional, but as lom=ng as u have the stock birds u need to hammer the y/b's down the road regardless of how theey look.Ihad the delbars for years and a better looking family of birds has still to come along but when their feet hit that landing board on a saturday if theywin that ugly doo takes pride o place on a sunday.ps i'd still take a pair of the delbars to try them
