some fanciers keep various strains of birds but in y experience distance birds can win at shorter races but birds bred for sprinting won't do at the distance unless strong tailwinds hence shorter time on the wing

no bother j.a.m but on weaning i give each bird half a spartrix canker tablet.I think when youg are being fed thru regurgitation small cuts etc could allow canker deposits to get a grip.It's something i've always done for many years now
