    BIG news!

Behave Vic, your tarring any thing that moves. Tony's a good one, and from the same place as my dad... so his not a cockney, though my grandad was born under the Bow Bells in St. Davids Rd.
  2. True, and Inodine, and carbolic soap.
  3. For the tops of most strain Frank Bristow. Then again any bird can excell at 200 miles... all down to Management and systems I believe.
  4. Well never had y/b/s, and a great believer in garden lime allowed to settle over night in the water. Most in one club did and y/b/s doesn't seem to rear it's head at all... other clubs I'm in have had some... go figure. But lime does - reportedly have the effect of soothing and caalming. And no forget about E Coli mythss... But if it was y/b/s then I wouldn't remove any seeds brought up, but allow all to eat, the sooner had and got over the better ... do the lot in one go, nothing worst than waiting for another attack.
  5. lol ;D ;D so true! ;D

  8. If you've ever worked for a boss that reacts before getting the facts or Mittal - Steel, feeling it was time for a shakeup, hired a new CEO. The new boss was determined to rid the company of all slackers. On a tour of the facilities, the CEO noticed a guy leaning on a wall. The room was full of workers and he wanted to let them know that he meant business. He walked up to the guy leaning against the wall and asked, 'How much money do you make a week?' A little surprised, the young man looked at him and replied, 'I make ‘£400 a week. Why?' The CEO then handed the guy £1,600 in cash and screamed, 'Here's four weeks' pay, now GET OUT and don't come back.' Feeling pretty good about him self, the CEO looked around the room and asked, 'Does anyone want to tell me what that goof-ball did here? ' From across the room came a voice, 'Pizza delivery guy from Domino's.'

  11. quote=480]thats a top pigeon bud,if anyone bought it they would certainly get there money back paired to another top pigeon. Les Personally I can't see what the fuzz is about. If you want it, you buy it, or make an offer. If you would like one, but can't afford it, ask for an egg etc. But why any one wants to debate a fella's asking price, or even say where some are cheapper all seems irrelevant to me. Now the real reason I can on this line is, and I may have asked before, but getting forgetful in me old age, is Shou, that pigeon advocate sure looks like a Stamvater Line to m? [

    Fame at last ;D
  13. Had a young hen do exactly the same, both legs more than one break. I strapped legs with Sellotape and made sure it fed and watered. I was - like you, impressed with it's determination ... Left fpor ten days and took of tape with warm soapy water. Healed a treat and flew Pau for me twice. Never ind the cobblers about Air / breathe like in elastoplasts etc. Old myth. When I get a bad cut, deepish, I pull the cut close together with and hold tight till bleeding stops... then use sudocream on a elastoplase. Then I wrap and sucure with masking tape. Two days later I change dressing do again etc. using a little butter. Hardly ever scars. One when fitting a carpet I really slash a big cut in the leg ... blunt blade and hurrying -.I held real tight together and got me son to get the copydex out - a Latex glue. I smothered the wound in side the cut and got a lift to the hospital. Yes it hardly ever bled and was nicely together wen the stitches were put in. Surgeons use latex by the way, when they can't stitch awkward places in your insides.

Steady Jimmy, ok they have took to your loft, and are a mite content... what they need now is freedom to gain confidence. If you have a hawk problem, that won't help, especiall if attacked, but time to settle and feel safe is everything now.

Well, must say well done and that I am pleased for you. First birds I had were old birds. I had on the 28th March. First race 10th of April that year ... I asked the fancier I had them from to leave his loft up as I had been told via a very good and knowledgeable flyer that regardless how many time you collect no longer than 3 days in the loft till let out to break. I raced every race North and most South with broken birds. Indeed out of the 24 I had I still had 19 at seasons end... Natural flown of course. Best was a 3rd from Frazerburgh with a blue cock bird. This was tossed Grantham day before basketing, sitting eggs about to hatch. It went back to it's old loft. I picked it up on the next morning, light fed it and let it sit it's eggs till I took it to tehe club.. removed the hen. Most said I was daft, but I knew it was going to do well.

I wouldn't frightened them at all ... they are near, so be patient and wait. Leave the door open with a sprinkling of small seed... don't try and catch them ... let them gain confidence, and become even hungrier. They will shift from loft to loft ... better they feed in your loft! Indeed the most sensible way of breaking in any bird is to feed - when possible and circumstances permit - in their new home only, Soon they will fly to their new home for feed and water, and soon Robert's your mothers brother! Patience is a virtue, use it!

Never mind preventives etc. the Horse has bolted, so to answer your question, YES some will definately come back to you. Getting them in may take a bit of time though. Light seed to keep them around ne the traps. Not too mucch though as you want them to eventually see through the traps their feed. Personally I would leave the door open and let them walk in and out. This enables them to get confidence and enter. ANY and every birds is, and can only be broken, or settle when they know they can come and go. ... Plus the fact they like the set up and want to stay. So chin up mucker, all can well turn out well, ndeed a blessing as 'It's an ill wind tht blows no good'!
  23. ;D ;D Fed and watered the parents regularly lol
