Nice to see it is Cath and Geoff Cooper now lol. Mind she is a lovely lady, and the up front part of the duo lol.

Well place another over it to make it 1/4.

You know the reality is simple. Whatever strain birds are suppose to be good at, their niche so to speak, then obviously those winning at these niches must have these so - called birds. I.e. if Terry Berwicke is winning at 600 - 700 miles, you can call them Maisy's Daisies if you like, but these are the birds you would be seeking. Yes - wheyther for selling purpose or otherwise - they may also be of a certain name of strain. Thing is, is you trust, and have respect for each other - the seller and buyer - you will be told, like Louella's exactly what they are, or supposedly are I.e. Jan AArdens or Bussearts etc.

North Wales Novice I believe I have won it. I had a P.m. to that effect from Jargre. It was also asking to simplify what I said. I now think Jargre was referring to the eye and what and how I saw into it. Said it was scary and made him think about starting to believe in eye sign lol I miss Albear here as he was well into 'Eye Sign'. Me! Well I just read the great Bob Flemmings writings, and much argumentive writings these apparently were lol. Though I do think the bad blood that seems to inevitably arise on this subject discolours the water. Bob for instance had no time for Bishop, Carney, Vickers and certainly not Kulik. These in didn’t like so and so, nor did Pobor etc.. No one ever had a good word for Jack Berkly from Sunderland that fled to S. Africa. Indeed none did it would appear did for any other eye sign guru lol. Alan (Albear) rated Carney I know. Indeed I know many that swear by Bill, the dad, and not so much the son. Thus Alan didn't like Flemmings’ calling him etc. So that could again have colour the water a mite. Then Tom Majestica only liked the Belgium birds and their' eyes.... though there is no such thing in Belgium as Eye Sign and they down follow it. Indeed not even a name for it.... But they again will pay a 'Fixer' to come round and mate their' birds! :-/ Remember now that over 80 years ago the Brits and Belgium’s were at logger heads over this.... though to be fair many Brits also Poo - Hooed it. But the Belgium’s don't look at the eye having no time for it. Indeed Further - which I believe - the eye is the mirror of the soul so to speak. One can tell it's condition health wise and it's mental state etc. So why you made see a bad bird with a 'Good Eye' it seems that you will never see a good bird with a 'Bad Eye'. A great read on this is Schaerlaeckens articles, where he states the.... read it lol

Similar, or same as Mine. I put a wire mesh as the roof. 18 inches at the back, down to 6 inches above at the front I have another roof above the wire mesh. This slopes to the front so I can always see if any cat of such is on the loft at any time. The top roof overlaps well the wire mesh roof below. Now for cost effectivenes, and a loft that never rots, wears out etc. I suggest that framework is done for sectioned covered, as the out walls also, with Mesh both sides. 1/2 mesh I have. Then these frames out side haveplastic air vents fixed to another frame that clips onto the frame work. I also use Plastic Cladding, which is £6 - £7 now nearly and is 5 metres in length and a foot wide. Easy to cut andagain eithe clip to another light frame for fixing to the loft. They interchange so you can control tempreture, wind effects etc. Indeed in the summer taking the sides completely off quickly leaves just averies. etc. etc.

Free to young fancier or new starter

It's the cost of the courier I fear. £25 - £30, is it a white Elephant cost waise. Have to be near you mucker I'd say. -
Why go Blackpool and help pay their stall fees and burden yourself carting them back eh!
-
PigeonPete's roll of Mesh. £40. A little light Plywood a tenner and a stick or or two of 2 metres of 2 x1 inch and you will build 3 - 4 or for £50 easy. Easy Peasy to make too! Take about 1/2 hour each if careful and slow lol :P ;D
-
I'd love some Foxes. Also some Double Gr. children of thsoe I've mentioned. I would wager they off spring would do well in spite of me.
-
We also up to 1963 have decent cold winters. The 'R' in the month cleanse and cured a lot. Natures way.
-
I shall just place a piece of ply wood over the nesting area with two bricks at right angles with Tobacco stalks as much as they want to use availabe. Yes I always place a decent covering in first. I cut these into 4 - 6 inch pieces. When a mite fouled I will simple lift the youngsters out. Discard the whole nest and replace with two warm bricks and a load more of Stalks and plonk them back on. Quick, simple and very effective. Have about 30 odd Nest bowls going to waste I guess. But the cost of couriers means at a £1 each, cheaper for some one to buy new ones. Have cleansed them a mite. Shame to waste, so will hold onto them. Are all outside in the snow etc. which kills any nasties. Further a another rinse and rady for the dish washer eh! ;D ;D

Not changed it at all, just simplified my answer... Only thing changed is that I tend to feel that it is more a Roland Jansenn than a De Hont whereas before I said before it could have been either. Both have many of the same birds in fore fathers, but mainly because I feel that the De Honts aren't as widely distibuted as the Roland's Jansenn are ... And a great name to boot lol So the more I ponder the more I feel assured it is a Roland Jansenn.
-
If your serious about them, just go to Louella's and buy two pairs off The Spirits, Smadgg 1 and 2 and ac ouple more as such, and let the run like so many sucessfully fanciers have. One did and won not just Nationals - like others - but an International.
-
Glen even Jan Aardens son stated - and he was left his dad's birds - said he didn't have any after a very short while AND was amazed to read so many selling them lol. Especially in the states later on.
-
Well basically I would say breeds and breeds winners. Also with nigh every hen. I think the De Hont is a little off in retrospect, though the foundations very close. So I'd plumb big time for Roland Jansenns. So I would venture very much nigh, if not all Roland Jansenns. But of course, the 'Rce Pen is not where this bird is for. Ones like these only come along every so often. Yes the hardest part is getting the off springs right for them to breed as like. I would venture and wager a fair bit that this bird, a Cock bird has bred umpteen winners, and is the kind to start a loft up even. The over riding factor is sorting out the 'Racers' and them like him, more importantly BREEDING winners. Can't simplify it any more. A machine that breeds winners, and A Roland Jansenn I'm pretty sure at that. Never took much stock of that strain, but if it is, then I can see why it is so popular.

No one ever Pm's me :( ;D ;D ;D

It is a Voilet Cluster. It will have flown very well up to 450 miles. It has bred some very good winners. Is a must for the stock loft where it will excell and certainly do the buisness. I believe it is a cock bird. If crossed with a Yellow, or Orange eye it has produces the better birds than himself. A bull eye will throw up a pearl - which can still be studied regards Eyesign. If a Green eyed hen is mated to him, the distance capabilities with improve Also then a great possibility of another 'Cluster'. Yes the Orange and yellow eys crosses produce Pearl cock birds. However a Yellow eyed hen with be kept and put straight int the stock loft. These mated to a orange may well produce a 'Gold Eye' worth it's wieght in gold. ... Especially bred back into a Cluster, or Violet eye. - As would any yearling Cluster eyed cock birds. As for strain I'd be inclined to favour a De Hont or even a Roland Jansenn being crossed into it. Certainly along those lines. Certainly has a slight mixture of Jansenn a few generations back.

Agree of course, or Nuts washers and bolts better still.

Known a dog to pick up and bring back rabbits alive. Purpose for eating of course. Must say thoughin reality a dog is for owners own enjoyment and nothing to do with eating in reality. But as long as we discus this topic, it only makes many more of the public aware of what they were blissfully ignorant of.... Dogs for hunting etc. Best to let sleeping dogs lie and lying dogs sleep I reckon. In reality the fact is, those wanting to go hunting with dog can do so now easily without drawing attention to themselves. Mr Public doesn't know, nor is bothered till it is brought to his notice. :-/ Umm seems some now want confrontation to get the 'Rights' to do what they already are able to do unhindered :-/

I supported a 'Anti Cruelty to Animals' on his soap box scrounging for 'Money'! I said that time a little more creedence was put into their phlight and to show some real guts, determination and to make worthwhile stances across the board. Not just him, but everyone of the same mind'. He agrred somewhat, till I suggested that possibly the best way forward and to make a stand against these labratories would be to refuse any medical help, or pain killers, or aids in any operation, illnes or sickness that has been founded on 'Animal exploitation or tests'. He made out I wasn't there, but I rallied a little and go a few in the now audience to agree, even push fot... He left state that that was rediculous! My parting shot for all to hear was 'Now if you cared and wanted to make a real stand against these laboraties! I'm right, But! they, their wifes and girlfriends wear make up, weare shoes etc. and eat battery eggs and chickens etc.etc. Hence promoting the very things that say they are against.... Let other fire bullets while he makes them eh!

Remember when there was tapes made of Camel racing done for 'Race Nights'. Chippendales Circus did them. They would line then up at a race course and have a recorded race. The 'Do Gooders' hounded them more than something rotten saying it was cruel etc. Hence no more done. Now a Camel carries great weight in hazardous conditions and travels. Will races quite comfortable in great heat! So when will they start on 'Horse racing? :-/ The RSPCA plonkers were asked to watch over 'Pig Racing' being recorded to save any hassle that might arise later. Some 9 inch hurdles and little 4 0z cloth Jockey's on their back.... No not a Scotsman, lol. They curtailed it to 25 yards on the grounds of cruelty. These do gooders that are actually NEVER ever seen doing any good, or going to help, investigate unless the 'Media' are involved and they have an excuse to get their’ money collection tins out and shake down the high street / shopping centres. Incidentally these are also just easy open tins and no lock, or key, so any one could open them. Hardly any if any fit young foxes were ever caught.... But where it was wrong, once the fox went to ground, the fox had, or should have won the race for live.... But the scum buckets will dig them out. Not against the hunt or anything at that’s for sure, in fact couldn’t care one way or the other – nice on Cards etc. But when they injure a fox - often imported - and break a leg etc. Leave it in darken, dim shed to heal up, an then release the poor thing 3 - 400 yards in front of the hounds THAT WANTED banning. That is why many Townies and a fair % of us country boys are / were against the hooray Henry brigade of selfish wanton ego's of cruelty. They should have cleaned up their act yonks ago instead of constant nonsensical lies like 4 and a Half million will tread the country lanes on a boxing day alone for their’ sport etc. etc. Then making out it was the second biggest sport to football etc. 30 Hunts sharing 4 and half million followers on one day, not only is it unbelievable it was not believed and hammered another nail in the liars coffin. They will return, haven't of course stopped. But again are starting to play close to the wind meaning it will bring another confrontation of the masses against them again. Indeed with Camouflaged vows to do away with the NHS as such, then adding this stating the Tories will bring it back. Well the Tories fortunately won’t get back in! Why can't they just smile and get along quietly and let it be. They haven’t lost anything, except face and a bruised ego. They are still out hunting just as before. and no one is, or will bother. But Rich cretins raiding here there and being a 'Law Unto Themselves’ like that Ferry twit, will cause the masses to rise up again and back the anti hunting brigade. And three faced wish washy Cameron - sorry Chameleon - will side with the VOTERS which are now mainly anti hunting and will be even more so with their’ stupid mindless behaviour. Days of ‘having the right to rule and lead while the suckers are made to follow or abide’ are fast becoming a thing of the past. So it's time they woke up and smelt the coffee. Indeed the very posting an article as these will cost the Tories votes. But then that will be good, so I for one will emblazon this debate with gusto!

Make sure of GOOD air circulation. In at botton front say, hits the back and then up and out the middle. False roof, or chimnies. £290 with fitting I see also in the BHW regularly advertised. Roof, regardless needs to slope to the front, so you can see if anything, such as cats are at the back. Of ground, but enclosed with 1/4 inched holes or 1/2 inch mesh. Whilst building, cover botton and any pillars with glass by glueing too them / it. Rodents can't climb or gnaw in then. Enclosed but airiated yet nothing again gets, or can hide underneath. Niether can pigeons mate and nest underneath. One hell of a problem stopping them from doing it etc. Sliding doors give better room, less frightening when opening to the birds, and easy peasy to use even with one hand full. Skylights a very good idea / persplex when building. Electric fence, around £70, around the bottom and top of the loft / fence will be a boon and very well spent. Wooden / plastic uprights to they land on landing board. That's for starters.

Get a 1inch or even a two square of Polistireen... glue / tack a box like piece of plywood and fit over it and place water on top of it. Birds can't them peck at it and will help stop any freezing.
-
Yea, Studs and feather merchants! Effort in selling them. Gosh, Most studs don't race because the simple reality is that if you race, you must have winners. And is not in a prime location they wouldn't be winners. So how can the develope a bird, mar it's metle or abilities if not racing it :-/

Where do I plug it in?Pretty much any socket in the house. How does it work? This is in regards the 4 in one deterrent that is like a fragrance looking thing you just plug into a socket. I caught another mouse yesterday incidently. This weather brings them into towns etc. like nobodies buisness and I constantly reset my traps... weeks of wasted tim - luckerly, then the odd one caught. The device uses three systems: Electromagnetic, Ultrasound and Ionic. Electromagnetic: Works through the electrical wiring of your house.Pests occupying your house spend most of their time living in the walls, ceilings and floors, making them difficult to remove using conventional means. The "4 in 1 Pest repeller" aims to overcome this problem by sending a varying electrical pulse throughout the wiring of the whole house. Whenever electricity passes through a wire, an electromagnetic field is created: the manufacturers believe that the particular fields created by this device create an environment that prevents pests via irritant and thus drives them out of your house. Ultrasound:The ultrasound creates a loud noise at a high frequency that humans can't hear: imagine (if you're mouse or crawling insect) it's like having a smoke alarm going off constantly. Because ultrasound doesn't pass well through solid objects (that's why doctors can use ultrasound to get images of babies in the womb) this will be most effective in the room you plug it into to. Consequently, if you plug the device into the room where you've seen most activity, you're maximizing the effect of both control methods. Of course, as with all methods involving animal behaviour, we can’t guarantee effectiveness in every situation, however, our own experience and the feedback we get from customers suggests that this device is effective in almost all situations. If you need more advice on how to get the best out of the product, don’t hesitate to give us a call. Ionic:The 4 in 1 is also an air ionizer - producing ions that clean the air local to the device and may help to remove dangerous bacteria from the air. Recent concerns over MRSA and other "super-bugs" have led the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK to do extensive research into the effect of negative ions on this area of hygiene.
