  1. Fragimento speaks realism. 8)
  2. Don't know about starter.... Nigh anyone I reckon. But yes a great starter as in everything one needs and amount of birds / pairs kept. Barry's loft he's had for 47 years - with un dates of course id no bigge, if as big.
  3. Well personally, when ever I've bidded for a bird, like many others no doubt, I have a 5 second panic attack lol saying did I really want to lol. Then when it goes up again I set a realistic price I'm prepared tp pay, not afford mind as I've never bid lol, and sometimes go a little higher. But have never bidded without 100% certainty that I will fetch and pay. Yes no dobt like everyone else. Now the thought of changing my mind, would only last - like most again - for a split second whilst knowing I'm committed. Can't see how squaching out endears me to anyone1 And certainly would have myself, let alone others if I altered my mind. Just wouldn't happen. Mind I am unfortunately long in the tooth and of the 'Ole School'. ;D ;D
  4. Of course Bigda also remembers them well lol ;D ;D

True Ian. Again when a serious and very fundemental question is asked. Instesad of spout rot and trollop I think AGAIN the question begs asking Why. I know why, and is a very good sauce - if I'm correct. B.O.P. don't want the question answered of course. ;)
  8. Mine do. Like I.B. ALL my birds trap into one corridor then sort out their compartments ... besides never having to relocate another trapping for them latter it saves a £100 on another padd not having to by. Gosh before I closed down two comparments ththey were 20 odd feet away from their cmpartment .... But all trapped into the same first passage.
  9. The RPRA knew exactly what this meant, in both the wording, and the happening. They will merrily sit by twiddling thumbs and be content to say nothing. In reality they needn't either because A. It states within the confines, so there you have it. No need to elabrolate etc. doesn't matter a jot. Whilst many are arguing, other will st up and have their Pads' within the confines legally, whether inside the loft, on a chimney or where ever. It will run it's course and then nigh everyone - if there aren't any already doing it, where they find is the best place to hace then. Chimney is a bit dicey of course, a it might land for a change and trap straight off lol ;D

  11. That be as it may, but the fact is, that it is 'Within the Confines' full top.
  12. Mick, it IS perfectly legal. I, like many more, and certainly the RPRA can't understand where the diffenItions isn't contrite and straight to the point. iT doesn't matter a jot how anyone wishes to interprete it. Facts as facts. And if the aviary is deemed to be within the confines of the loft, which is adjacent, or if in same garden allotment or even town etc. then that is just what the ruling means. Gosh glad it's not within the confines of Australia, some size that ... within the confines of the Northern Hemisphere? :-/ Google it. Confine, onfined, and confines, all have completely different meaning - which is logical or they would only need one word.
  13. Shouldn't have even got as far as the Case being heard. He is, was exacting his rights as to the RPRA rules. Confines of the loft it says... Full stop. Now many are munching about this ruling, and the RPRA are wrong in as much they should state to those of hard to understand what those words mean, not inply, but actually comply. Which the fellow has done. Canada states Within the Upright of the loft. So bird has to go in to clock in theory. But of course if the Bob Wire or whatever used to contain the birds are further inside still, then so be it. Gosh within the confines of Quebec. The confines Japan etc. So A. fancier who are anti need to take aboard the reality, and the RPRA should stop being ar$e holes and come out and say outright that that is exactly what it means even if I expect mealie mouthed about it.

Personally I'd say a racing eye. Mind, though have been told and have read a lot, I don't put any store to it personally.
  15. Pass The Butter ~ ~ ~ ~ This is interesting . . . * Margarine was originally manufactured to fatten turkeys. * When it killed the turkeys, the people who had put all the money into the research wanted a payback so they put their heads together to figure out what to do with this product to get their money back. * It was a white substance with no food appeal so they added the yellow coloring and sold it to people to use in place of butter. * How do you like it? * They have come out with some clever new flavorings. DO YOU KNOW...the difference between margarine and butter? Read on to the end...gets very interesting! * Both have the same amount of calories. * Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams compared to 5 grams. * Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53% over eating the same amount of butter, according to a recent Harvard Medical Study. * Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods. * Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few only because they are added! * Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavors of other foods. * Butter has been around for centuries where margarine has been around for less than 100 years. And now, for Margarine... * Very high in trans fatty acids. * Triple risk of coronary heart disease. * Increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol) and lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol) * Increases the risk of cancers up to five fold. * Lowers quality of breast milk. * Decreases immune response. * Decreases insulin response. And here's the most disturbing fact.... HERE IS THE PART THAT IS VERY INTERESTING ! * Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC... * This fact alone was enough to have me avoiding margarine for life and anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular structure of the substance). You can try this yourself: * Purchase a tub of margarine and leave it in your garage or shaded area. Within a couple of days you will note a couple of things: * No flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it (that should tell you something) * It does not rot or smell differently because it has no nutritional value * Nothing will grow on it. Even those teeny weenie microorganisms will not a find a home to grow. Why? Because it is nearly plastic. Would you melt your Tupperware and spread that on your toast? Share This With Your Friends..... (If you want to "butter them up")! Chinese Proverb: "When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit from it, You have a moral obligation to share it with others." People don't care how much you know...Until they know how much you care
  16. Had a article Gordon Chambers sent me. Said as such, and the power of Invetimin. Said that the floor was flooded after using this. Mind any decent wormer has to be good now in uyour case. Good luck.
  17. Blow torch. Every day I blow torch the pieves of 8 inch square of wood the Water Container sits on. Blow torch most every week. Vikron spray too after scraping. Still worry lol.
  18. Now Maxwell that IS a cracking looking youngster ... When van you ship it down lol ;D
  19. Obviously the 'Strain' that also comes up as an also 'Great' is Jansenns. Personally, he's feats can't and didn't compare with say Busearts. Easier flying and never went distance, except the one season where they excelled... This was the Old Mn of course. And it was again 'Others' that made and kept the name going.... like Georges did. But George, and saister, did do many and much more challenged races in Harder territories too. Jansenns of course also had a good influx of diferent strains blended, and it was nigh always a Out Cross that produced the goods i believe, that all important new introduction. A great producer, and actually called Producer in Belgium was Stamvater. - my favourite. This was Jansenn based and bred for stock. What a wise 'Stockman' and racer was the owner(Muller correct the spelling I believe). Goldern Ball, The Foxes etc. were Stamvater base I also believe. 25 years now and more and mind needs refreshing lol. Always wanted some, never had the mony of course. Nigh 10 years a go 'Red Dragon' lofts of Wales was advertising and stating they had the lines. Phoned etc. repeatedly, but never got an answer. So that was as near as I ever got lol. Too late now I've no doubt. Also know a good fancier on here that had tem and they did well for him.
  20. These are the some of the norms regarding breeding and cross colours. However, of course 'Throw Backs' can and do occur. Blue x Blue = Blue cocks - Blue hens Blue x Mealy = Mealy cocks - Blue hens Blue x Blue Chq = Blue, Blue Cheq cocks - Blue, Blue Cheq hens Blue x Red = Mealy, Red cocks - Blue, Blue Cheq hens Mealy x Blue = Blue, Mealy cocks - Blue, Mealy hens Mealy x Mealy = Mealy cocks - Blue, Mealy hens Mealy x Blue = Mealy, Red, Blue cocks - Mealy, Red Blue hens Chequer = Blue Cheq cocks - Blue Cheq hens Mealy x Red = Mealy, Red cocks - Mealy, Red, Blue, Blue Cheq hens Blue Cheq x Blue = Blue, Blue Cheq cocks - Blue, Blue Cheq hens Blue Cheq x Mealy = Mealy, Red cocks - Blue, Blue Cheq hens Blue Cheq x Blue Chq = Blue, Blue Cheq cocks - Blue, Blue Cheq hens Blue Cheq x Red = Mealy, Red cocks - Blue, Blue Cheq hens Red x Blue = Blue, Blue Cheq, Red, Mealy cocks - Blue, Blue Cheq, Red, Mealy hens Red x Mealy = Mealy, Red cocks - Mealy, Red, Blue, Blue Cheq hens Red x Blue Cheq = Blue, Blue Cheq, Red Mealy cocks - Blue, Blue Cheq, Mealy, Red hens Red x Red = Mealy, Red cocks - Mealy, Red, Blue, Blue Cheq hens Be interesting to see how the parentage changed, to cause throw back I feel.
  21. Nor me! But was understandable in the wonder of hindsight.
  22. It was because he bought of Delbar, when Most Belgiums wouldn't touch Maurice with a Bar Pole. Must have heard of him as they strive to beat the records he set lol.
  23. De 85, whom George said was his best ever racer, ward the top title also with a record 58%. Never achieved before of since.
  24. The vast majority never have, or rather never will recognised Busseart. Nor his records which stand so high in Belguim. But they still stand. Also his sister---- Brother in - law was a force, indeed no slouch. More suprising is many top flyers over there say they have never heard of Roland Jansenn... Those that have say 'So - so medioca flyer. But please don't let this distract from a very good thread.
