  1. Think when one has looked through these you will agree that there are some lovely things about Scotland after all lol ;D ;D ;D http://www.dwrobertson-photography.com/homepage.html
  2. Yep Alf... and if you take him away now and not let him see her lay, he will come like 'With Cresote on his behind'. Or take him out at 3 O'clock over night, till Thursday if she hasn't laid, as she won't lay in the mornind etc..
  3. Think the Natural flyers outshine the widowers in our Fed. Especially at the distance. Natural have dominated not only the fed, but the two longest Algamations too for last few years. Yes many Naturals are now beating the widowers. 2003 had a youngster reported in Durham way where they started racing in March. Fellow say Natural dominate the earlier races at the springt now due to lack of sun ... But there are many other facets to be taken into account when one realises just how much the natural boys changed a lot of the old 'Way it has always been ' and moved ahead with the times. A different ball ame now, because they had to. Simple as that I guess.
  4. Because they know if you want a job doing properly get a Scottish girl to do it not a bloke from Wrexham ;D ;D ;D ;D Love to hear it gal ... gives a guy all the lee way he could ever wish for... Indeed used it tonight in fact. Missis out spending my dosh to feed my ugly mush when it starts to rain. Was just scraping out he birds too. So I quickly take the washing in and leave in huddled up on side in the wash room. 'Thanks', says she 'It will grease, some will get mucky////' blah blah. I just put on the little boy lost look and say 'What do expect? After all I'm only a man'! Come to think of it she has spoutred that of late, but it is embedded and re- inforce via so many women to day it is as safe as houses to use... and covers a multitude of sins as the 'Woman' has no come back lol :P ;D ;D ;D ;D
  5. S sad ... I feel for you all. My most sincere condolenses.

  9. I both Mick. Both sport and money ... Their' nature is that they want the pastime / Hobby, but quickly also want to make it pay. First off just to cover costs, then a dual purpose for money with credit and 'Winning'. An unbeatable combination, as most move to purchase a prime location to boot. Yes some stay just where they are granted... In a good location lol. So they also very often have 'Mr Wind' working for them too etc. etc.

  11. http://www.countrystoredirect.com/ Next day delivery, and very helpful. Have used Rutland too... but a lot more money. A battery charger does the same job, but be safe and go direct and have done with it.

    what a punch

:-/ :-/ :-/ Bugner!!!! can't believe that you could even dream what you've just said. Joe fought and went the distance with the best. Knocked he was knocked out twice, via Paul Brown and Ernie Shavers, reckoned the hardest hitting boxer of all time, even harder that Liston. Went in with Frazier and matched him... nigh knocked him out Ali etc. etc. If he hadn't had killed that fellow would have knocked many more out... mental block that couln't be shifted. (Bruno was an embassarment that was a farce to get Frank a shot at the title, Like Marvin Frazier. Gosh never seen the likes before when a fellow sits on the ropes and lets a guy pommel him... stands up and is then Held but the inside arms and threw to the floor, giving the Ref the dues being paid for and ended the fight lol. Biggest mistake he ever made was not knocking Cooper out and carrying him and doing just enough to win. Should have knocked out i the first to thrd round and had done with it instead of thinking he'd let him get beaten with grace. Ok the fans would have said he beat an Old man and let it go.
  13. I believe we forget a couple of underling factors. A. We in reality have no idea how they home. Thus there are many factors of course then that we have no idea, indeed can’t, about. What they are... Obviously ones we don't know. ‘Fly Away’s’ Theories, lame excuses in reality are often spouting, for we just don’t know or have any idea. Usage of the tongue with glib and bland crap scenarios, not least 'Over Crowding' etc. We just have to accept and say 'Sod's Law' or whatever. And of course ‘Over crowding is a myth. Further, I believe, many forget then first big 'C' of the three the all-important 3 ‘C’s. 'Contentment’. Without this, from the earliest start in life, nothing else can have an effect. 'Control', thirdly 'Condition'. Now that is impossible also to get with out the first big ‘C’! So yes many don't race home. So yes, many just bugger off. Then there is days like Bakes and we all have... 'Whatever; days, and we won't ever, I guess, know why. Whims and qualms to suit us is commonplace. But we don't even understand the basis because we don't know. Only so called 'Tried and Tested' practises that seem to work. Like the second most used load of Crap spouting, that all-important 'Breaking Points'! It is and must be a fallacy, one that seems to work for some ... not the fact that they are getting race 'Conditioned' and fit with mileage under their wings. Gosh in reality according to the wind, many days we would wish / hope that the birds aren't anywhere near those 'Breaking points'. Yet most say 'Know when it's a good birds... when it comes between those trees there, or ‘…over them chimneys’ etc. Which means it is 'Conditioned, and the wind is in their’ best favour. Other will work back Bakes I'm sure, certainly hope so, and many will be better for it. etc. etc. Good luck

  18. White Peace, or Pure peace. White Serenity But you want a short, easy to remember, appriate name that relates to the cause. White Bliss.
  19. Slightly disappointed. Think the playersdiving and clamouring around the ref is bad. So though I'd rather a british side still in, I have to have solace with the fact Man U got stuffed. Marvellous how they were contained to their over half, most around the box till the needed to score. Then the game opened up again and Man U were having chances... Alway think it is a bad thing when side defend like that. Just kick it out / up field and wat 10 seconds for them to be at you again.
  20. dal2 I take it this statement is for the benefit of the fanciers in the south of england?? not us fanciers in the south of scotland. Well they certainly benefit the most ... and the poath following on. Had some great Scottish birds flying nearly 800 miles on the day. Obviously with sensible early libs. Early the better. 30 minutes to let the sun take the chill out etc. when appropiate. Now when a bird flies 650 on the day it gets the credit it deserves. Most are never given the chance as a noon lib means short flying birds nigh always beat them and take their thunder. Are we, or anyone with the slightest sense of reallity and fair play, to believe that A. these birds were beaten by better birds? :-/ That these true distance birds given the chance, let alone the credit that they so wholesomely deserve. Of course not.

Get the pain killer or salt rubbed in then every time they ae out.
  22. I firmly believe that ALL PIGEONS should have a chance to home on the day.... So up at 4 30 is fine. What reaks is the deliberate 'Noon; Libs, stated or not, that allow a good middle distance bird to win the longer and more prestigous races. No two ways about it! It is contrived for that very reason so 'Names' have more arrows to their bow. Many of these so - called names wouldn't even send if it was guarenteed a hold over upto 5 day if no real early libs were possible. No they wouldn't send and leave a better and fairer race for the true distance euthusiats that are often robbed of their birds merit. And as no two days are a like, and holed up at the coast. The milkmn wakes them up. Tired wings nip over the water and time in whilst after a cold channel many great birds are robbed by having to fly 100, 200, 300 miles further whilst the so called winner is itting in a loft having flown say 350 miles and then has the cheek to be called a 'Distance Bird'.

  24. Have no time whatsoever for Man U. Infact can't stand them. But I will be 100% behind them and supporting them. Score :-/ a win by just enough lol.
  25. day before yesterday I saw at first glance a pigeon way off and at a decent hieght. Thought as it glided and then flapped that it was trying hard to home and was obviously tired. Then as the thouhts finished the realism set in what a plonker I am lol - Well I knew that lol. Any way it was the hen sparrow hawk. First I seen since the last two lot that nested near by left. Birds took no notice and flew down to loft and back to roof tops as norm. Yesterday some were out when she came a calling. his time, though some were on the loft, they just flew up and circled to a good hieght. Nary a worry to them it seemed, just to me as I got the broom ready - nearest thing to me out side of the crow bar which is too heavy to wield - besides they are for crows lol. So thought that as the baseball bat was inside I couuld if necessary make a clean sweep with a broom. But fancy think of a Hawk as a pigeon, regardless how far off eh!
