Aled, I think you are missing the point on at least two accounts. NO trapping mechanism ever invented would, or could cost £400 to have a slight alteration. It is just not feasible. Your birds I take it, on these system you bought, allows the birds to enter – regardless of what stage, or process, to actually enter your loft. So a simple devise must be available to allow you to put a pad, 2 inches lower when they are in. And two, I’m not calling you a cheat, or saying you will… But many will be, no two ways about that. The RPRA have done this to even up an unjust ruling. One that they were well aware of I have no doubt whatsoever when they made it. They have bow, reluctantly I’d wager, to the majority that were, are and still will be at a great disadvantage. Now as any law abiding fancier can see, and read, and understand, or have it explained to them, the RPRA have made it crystal clear that to time a bird in, it must be for a brief period confined to barracks, as any bird manually clocked has to be. Ok after they have been timed in, if the fancier allows, or lets, or the scenario is that they can / could again go outside so be it. Nothing changed there then. But the RPRA also knows full well that many will kick up, (which you and many more did / have) and many will flout the law. – Not for a moment saying you will Aled - Hence why the RPRA have had Dc this that, and the other, WRITE UP in their’ rags as such. This is simply to reinforce their’ commitment to this new ruling… AS useless as the ruling is in reality. But totally fair and right, and just, as far as the vast majority of the fancy are concerned. Aled, answer just one question, why are you and other so upset, and pain seekingly trying to get around this ruling and want to be able to time in without any containment whatsoever to the bird…. Only one answer to why, and that is because … Tell you what, for a fiver I’ll come and alter them traps for you and make them just as good and legal as to this new ruling, and I’m a bodge artiste and not a ‘Chippy’. So depending where you live I’ll get a ‘Chippy’ with me. Indeed I won’t even split the difference with the money you will save! I had to have a string mechanism to my trap that pulls the trapping board up inside, with a pad underneath it, and fasten it to hooks at the side. Why? Because I have sliding doors with bob wires. I still haven’t used my ET yet. Why, well I didn’t want unfair advantage over manual clocker’s and offered them all 20 first bird, and 12 seconds every other bird there after. And I already give some up to 10 – 15 miles to flyers Easy of me. So they I could say have enough advantage on their side already. Mind having said that I actually resigned from that club this last AGM. Aled 1000's are, and have been taken advantage of... Just what part of an little more of an even playing field do yuyou dislike?

Mind Alen, I further think like the vast majority that the original ruling was wrong, unjust and as such deemed to be so. Hence for once a wrong has been righted. Now where are the RPRA wrong in that? they aren't of course. More a case - as forecasted 'Bully for us (ET's timers) and tough for them.) Your' other birds will devastate the minor placings. Placing when if 12 land together each to adjacent lofts, the ET timers 12 will be in the clock before the manual clocker regardless of this ruling. Now is that just? :-/ Of course not, and many will lose placing, cards and money due to that fact. Yet still more wants more eh!

Alen Gibb wrote quote ' .....................Try not to insult people with unfounded accusations.' End of quote. Also he says Quote ' .............I strongly believe in complying with rules...’ I'm sure he believes that. But of course his post refer something very different. Fact! So A. I don't owe you a jot, and B. Certainly not for casting any aspersions as I have only related what you yourselves have stated. REGARDLESS how you wrap it up! So Alen simple accept the new ruling as it was and in the spirit it was made and intended'! So in a nutshell stop asking for a sway, or a different scenarios to get a ‘Change’ view ... Especially from us that can't do a thing about it and ARE WILLING to accept, indeed accepted we HAVE to accept. Any trapping device you have Alen, or have bought can, and should, be easily converted to make it legal, to do the same in essence what the majority have to do, which is simply to have control of a bird after it has raced and homed. Why oh why anyone should think you have a given right for special favours, - when you already have more than enough over the manual clocker beats me, and all manual clocker’s. So accept and get over it. Still a darn site faster, still prevents trap shy birds, - from constantly being handled, and as for the second bird onwards a vast difference. When 38 or more are timed in within a second, just how does that equate to not having advantage enough.

Nice set up. Good to see both past and up dated time eh!
-
Sadly not true. But a great result ... makes me want to nip over and give the scum a tap with 'Nasty Bertie'. Mind hopefully, though doubt it, it will stop others thinking along the same lines.
-
Very true. The RSPB now will state it isn't so of course and mislead yet again the vast majority .... like the 'Pour On' they advertised every chance all of a sudden saying that Falconers use Invertim .... Well that be as it may, but not the 'Pour on'.

So why spout and cry over the new ruling? We all know that. And for your info, a couple of Nationals have been won via a splitting of a decimal where the second has said 'If I'd Et...' Funnily when given a ten second handicap, the rsults would have been different. Yes many time for umpteen reasons 10 seconds or more may have been lost via the 2nd, or 3rd birds ... But we are talking of a consistantcy with the ET's. So No most the best birds doesn't neccesarily win, whether bad timing or location, wind etc. But then that's another matter which we have decided to have no control over ... But at least the RPRA have acted in fairness this time in regards the ET new ruling. And for once, because it is such a rarity we should applaud then instead of trying scenarios to better ones selves. JMO

Yep, or follow what Bilco and Les have advocated for so long. Know a good fancier that says simply. Peregrines.... yes plenty around. Never stay in my vacinity long enough to bother my birds ... like a lot more. Think sometimes that they have a point

xtccock do you know what your on about? :-/ Get real. And of course a bird can, and have, got out of Stall traps etc. Why .... Bad managerment. And if you for a second try to put over that a bird that is motivated, has endeavoured to get home ASAP will then goes into a stall trap and then decide to struggle to get out for no reason then you sadly miss something. Like the motivated bird that sits out for ten minutes after getting home as fast as it can ... In your dreams. Bad management if scared every week by being grabbed.... but then ofcourse this is another good bonus regard the ET. As for the timeing and giving 20 sec. That was the results of an independant RPRA finding. And yes Barry was suprised when he had 6 drop through the trap together. T3 mean - although in the loft every bird was exactly 12 seconds between them. And if you can't work out that on a fast race a velocity of 1760 means that a a ET timed bird can be a 1/4 of a mile behind and still win then there is simply no hope for you. And as for a High horse, i suppose you mean you can't afford one lol. Simple a lot of monet, like many have, and pence to make it legal. But you want your cake and eat. No high horse, just facts you want extra, and unfair advantage. Sqeal and spout all you like. Siplicity dictates your ansewers... You hate, like xtccock, for any advantage over the already unadvantage Manual clocker to be lost and to be fair. Truth! If not, instead of spouting Myths and scenario's come up with a valid reason why you deserve more advantage and why you don't like it. For none have certainly not been logical or fair and fair yet.

SHU disallowing RPRA rings with lugs removed
Roland replied to bullcock's topic in Pigeon Politics, Rules & Regulations
Yep, like the ET ruling regards them being inside the the loft and confined eh! -
Feel for you mucker. Still I'd re mate the birds and get another round off them and fly natural till they are weaned. Plenty of time yet. I have now eggs only, none hatched yet.... think another week to 10 days. Had end of June youngster fly 469 miles in the September. Chin up Davy

No. I mean Stall and Hole, once the bird goes into the first part it will drop through a Bob wire for instance in no time. So what's the problem :-/ And pearse1888 how simple it is to place another board behind the Bob wire an inch below to be legal and far. But in all honest 98% of every fancier, site members all know the truth here, YOU WANT another Few seconds advantage over the Manual clockers. You are bleat simply for more UNFAIR advantage. Simple reality that and EVERYONE knows it, Manual and ET timers alike. It's been change to make it fairer and still to help those disabled etc. Won't be recinded regardless of your bleat and tears ... It's here to stay, get over it! And as any fair minded and decent fancier will say 'SO IT SHOULD STAY AS IT AS BEEN CHANGED TO'!

Any way the stretch of road there is call 'mill Fleet'. It is a Club also where they hold the club meeting / basketing, though I believe the 'Mill Fleet Club' is actually still empty. But the club is on the right heading out from the centre. Tis real close to the centre too.

Satuated a downward V fence top with gripper rods, and much time adding a load more.... waste of time, even with wire mesh 18 inches high, bending about in the middle scarely leavining much above an inch, the cats walk over it as if not there. Best to get a £10 car battery charger and make an electric fence.

Oh you mean 'Ignorance is Bliss eh'! No it's not, and once set, as most will be sorted by the Clubs Sec and told - as you have already admitted, you wouldn't have a leg to stand on. Mind the real silliness of that ignorance is if you had a great bird winning in a hot, prestigeous race and got disqualfied, your' let your bird down, your selve down and be branded ever more as a cheat and a right plonker! .... And quite rightly so too! Get real and have the common decency to be a little more fairer to the Manual clockers. Think it is the hieght of repugnance and selfishness. Boo hoo can only get 14 second on a manual clocker :'( :'( :'(
-
More chance to pee in the queens ear hole from 50 yards into a head wind. Any what's the matter of of a simple converstion? :-/ :-/ Or are you moaning that you have lost a few seconds of those already had over the manual clocker? :-/ Yep they have to 'Confine' the bird to clock it in. So that means you can't clock your birds on the poutside landing board eh! Tough, get real and back the RPRA for A. once being fair to all when they could, and B. bite your tongue because the RPRA are well aware that Manual clockers still out vote the ET'S brigade by over 2 to 1. Mind do feel sorry for you, only having 14 seconds advantage now... 5 minutes tops to alter the inside of the trap you bought that has to be altered. :o

There is a pigeon club next to the Old Mill Fleet WMC. When I gigged there I use to pop in next door - time permitting for a banter.

Well certainly be no as far as I'm concerned. Went to Gainsborough last season to retrieve a youngster. Fellow said that he'd had a S. Hawk attack his birds before :-/. Then said that he'd once caught a hawk that had chased a blackbird into his garage and knocked it's self out hitting the glass. He said I thought I'd dispose of it, but asked his wife for a second opinion :-/ :o She said 'No' etc. and he let it go. Has returned the favour times eating many of his youngsters. :B :B :B
-
They are too look and and seen flying ... so the RSPB can make loads of money selling them Simple really. MONEY :B
-
Great buy.... just noticed. Suprise that they last that long before being sold ...

Told you thay won't tolerate any competition Spend a couple of nights a week learing out their territory

Don't get carried away. Of course they can hide the facts. Of course they can frabricate them. They can get so called experts / professors etc. with lots of letters behind their' names. They have at their disposal 'Hosehold names' to lie for them! Spring Watch, Counruy Files etc. are in their pockets plant and fabricating their views every day. They certainly have no love for our plight and thats the truth. Never mind truths. THE only truth to them is that that can, will, and do distort it. Be assured that if they can, they do and they will. They have no respect for truth. Nor facts or figures! For to them they are only there to manipulate and use for their own ends.
