    Stock birds

    Because you don't have to have your stock birds vaccinated there is no requirement to have the vaccinations witnessed Sharron, we get our non-racing birds done at the same as the racers, but don't put their ring numbers on the vaccination sheet (some of them don't have rings on anyway !! ) Last year we had our birds vaccinated on January 15th, before pairing up.

  12. To take a throat swab - use long cotton bud - wet (but not drench)in cooled boiled water, 'swab' the throat with wet cotton bud - squeeze liquid onto slide, view through microscope as quickly as possible - I watched an 'expert' do the sample this way.

  17. Eucalyptus oil works just as well and is a lot cheaper (99p) Use different oils on the corn Groundnut oil Wheatgerm oil Cod liver oil Garlic or garlic oil Evening primrose oil ( and they don't suffer from PMT ;D ;D ) My birds have lovely silky feathering

  24. I have taken a few hundred photos this week, most of them have been utter rubbish.... I have photos of empty boxes, backs of heads etc........... > :'( ;D Couldn't go far wrong with the loft - as it can't move !
