  1. good pal john bosworth has 2 away and says sinclair thomson of port seton wont be far away. ;) good luck to all.
  2. massive, massive loss to the lanarkshire fed,jim over the last few years has spoilt the members of the lanarkshire fed by making it common place to get 99% of the convoy home, remember controlling races with a fed racing to the west of scotland makes this an achievment in its self, jim as controller ticked all the boxes, this weekend being over cautious in many peoples eyes appears to be the catalist with which jim has felt that he must step down from his post, people with jims knowledge and skill in pigeondom do not grow on trees and remember the last guy who never made a mistake was nailed to a piece of wood.
  3. hope its no mine. ;D ;D
  4. yes gareth,i think we still have the doos but i think its us doomen who over cook it.
  5. gareth i think we have all become guilty of an obsession for weather forecasts, for the first time in 35 years my dad went with the weather men and also got it wrong, usually he says get them away and this weekend chose to be canny, still had a decent race with 16 first timers away 180mls 11 home 5 yrlings to come. 50 years ago the station master was the race controller and these lads will tell you they got their birds home, food for thought.
  6. forth and clyde racing from wetherby.
  7. tom law at larbert usually has them.
  8. very very disappointed, this thread was started with regards the top performances of g w&p macaloney in last weeks race and as usual has gone down the same road of utter nonsense that is all too frequent on pb. :(
  9. my pal was 1st open snfc 2008 and also has a hen which has won over £7000 in snfc races, both van rijn hens. ;)
  10. was torn between the soap awards on telly and the will they wont they saga between ripon or wakefield glad its all sorted. ;D ;D

  15. i raced this morning with almond valley catterick lib 7.05 12/15 sent 3 latebreds to come, had 7 birds in 15 mins,150mls 3hrs 40 mins, not at the races, pleased with my doos, still very early. ;)
  16. was getting very worried by some of the posts with regards race controlling libs etc, have put some of these strange posts down to excitement due to some football match in the west of scotland,WELL SAID BUDGIE common sense will always prevail. ;)
  17. top notch flying from the macaloneys as always, not so sure about "united kingdoms finest fanciers"though certainly must be one of the best in britain,20 miles along the road in broxburn is another fancier with a pedigree imo as good as the coatbridge men, step forward john mcneil, this chap wins from start to finish, club fed combine & national,60mls-600mls and for the past 30 years topping the central fed winning the central combine, national sections from 300-600 miles certainly imo not much between both fanciers, but definately if you know your stats and statistics we have 2 of britains finest. :)
  18. clove crushed with garlic crusher and popped straight into drinker,we do this tuesday and same water topped up next day as the properties are still there, have done this now for over 25 years. :)
  19. good point delboy, myself i have attended snfc sales and quiz panels in all parts of scotland and like you i feel there could have been more fanciers there particulary from the west section, the venue is first class and was also free!! i think the days of big prices at sales are changing fanciers at this time of year fanciers would rather buy a youngster with the intention of racing it,myself i had a younster whose parents have 5 national certificates between them in the sale including first section gold cup and was happy that someone got what i believe to be a quality youngster for a sensible price, the question of location was raised,a gentleman from dumbarton got a train from glasgow to airdrie and then a taxi to greengairs as he had earmarked 2 birds, well he came away with 4 and was delighted, well done wee mick great support for your club.good sale, good venue, good birds, good company, well done to all. :) :) :) :)
