  1. Evening everyone, trying to locate roller fanciers in the south west. I have tried contacting James from the all England roller club but left message’s with no reply yet. Just wondered if any one on here might know of someone that keeps rollers? Thanks
  2. I apologise that I have not got the time to tend to my birds like I use to. That's why I am giving them up, sounds like I am better of to ring there necks than to bother coming on to forums like this.
  3. Hi all, I have not posted for some time as I have not been racing. I got a few birds left in the loft that needs to go. I am in Honiton Devon I have 5 Cock birds and 12 hens here. some of the birds belonged to a friend of mine that has recently passed away. Mixed blood lines including Janssen, Sootjen and van reet.Happy for any one to view them. I have addled a few photos and as you can see cleaning time is gone out the window. Please contact me for further info.
  4. Spoken to him and he suggested a few to be kept back and the rest gone, but same old thing here. If they where top price birds I can shift them but I have not got the courage to cull them as they are a well bred family. Just knowing if I should put them up for free to good home or do I push to move the hole lot with a few bags of corn in return to keep the remaining birds. Tough one for me as he is a very good friend a really nice old fella.
  5. Good evening PB members. I personally stopped racing last year but when an old friend of mine fell ill and was hospitalized the beginning of the year after falling down in his pigeon loft and damaging his neck i decided to help by housing his 25 pair of racers. we have been sitting waiting to see if he gets going again but at 84 he is struggling to cope in the house let alone tend to birds. I want to keep some birds back that has been with him a long while incase he does fully recover but what would you suggest i do with the other ones? Its a decent team of longer distance racers and stock that can be taken over by a starter. Sid (owner) has been racing club races the last few years with health and eye sight deteriorating, but done well enough in club racing to see him win the over seas averages and longest race more than once. what am i to do? thank you for any input Andre (devon)
  6. Scary, i think loft visits by officials needs to be more regular and in some clubs instigated. There is also so many lofts that was mapped many years ago and needs to be updated. For cheating with ets, not doable. As said by above members, the chip, ones put trough the club master cant be configured or altered unless it was reset by the mater that set it in the first place.
  7. Hens does seem to train allot better than cocks. They fly around 2 hours with the windows shut and the cocks keep dropping every 20 mins. Gone try both this year, as most is yearlings.
  8. Hi all , trust all that raced yesterday and last week has had some good returns and Results. I am after a pocket clock for my Unikon system. Hoping to find a second hand one, New at £225.00 big bugz. Cheers
  9. Love for the loft and fancier, makes me wonder why they ever want to comeback to me lol.
  10. With hawk attacks so heavy, just wondering how fellow members train after racing has started? I like to take them twice a week 15-20 miles weather permitting.
  11. Was watching a bit of you tube and found this very interesting...great stuff
  12. I just starting to build new boxes for next years old bird season. I will be building them 20 inch wide, 16 inch high and 16 inch deep. I will be making up and over fronts. They will also have plastic grills with pull out trays for easy cleaning. I am using 12mm ply making them in sets of 4. will have 3 sets of 4 in a 5ft wide x 6 ft high x 5.6 ft deep section. Hope this helps Sam
  13. I took some video the other day of young cocks treading some of the older cocks just after feeding. I should add i have never had birds this healthy although they are stock and only got a aviary to fly/bath in. Has any one else ever had this?
  14. I gave me youngins a 8 mile toss today with all birds returning in good shape. There is a couple of them that comes fine from training but will not fly at home, i like giving everything a chance but they are pushing there luck!!! They are the youngest of the lot at 10 weeks old. Just worried they might hold some of the older ones back that wants to go.
  15. Hi all, just wondering what age everyone's yb will be when racing starts? Also i weaned 12 youngens 3 weeks ago and they are flippen well trough the air. But they are well behind the older ones, would they be ok or will they be left behind? Cheers
  16. I done that ones, missed as-well and ended with a hole in the back of my loft.Birds locked up until 2nd week in jan for me.
  17. Same here, havent been a problem prev years. I would love to see them out but with bop and local shoot in winter best locked up.
  18. Thank you Owen and all other reply's. Seems a good idea no doubt. The shed i got is already up with onduline roof and side door.I got the same as Owen a opening at were the basket fits were birds learn to drink from and also to assist when training starts.I was just wondering along the lines of open front meaning dowels? or maybe perspex that you cant see trough with ets trap situated in middle with fly out just underneath? I was also thinking about splitting them up when training starts to try a bit of motivation? This will complicate things with the trap, unless i trap all trough the same trap and split them up after?
  19. Hi all, I managed to convince my landlord that i need a bigger loft and so ended up with a 12x6 for the young birds.I have also decided to go for a unicon ets system. What sort of front would be most suitable for the youngens keeping in mind ets clocking? I have got two 3ft x 12 inch vents for front bottom, with a 6inch gap in the back all the way along the top covered with mesh for ventilation.I got a side door. Any ideas? Or pic's will be greatly appreciated.

  22. hallo everyone, been a long time since i been on the site.Hope everyone is ok and ready for 2010. Got a Blue checker come in this evening ring number GB09 N55814 ,got a bad cut on its leg, tired and hungry.got him in a basket in the garage.
  23. I noticed something today that to me was just amazing.I got a stock pair that has been together for 3 seasons and bred me some cracking youngins. This morning with the nice sun shine i placed the bath in the aviary for the birds to enjoy.I noticed first in was the cock of the mentioned pair(whilst the hen is sitting on the eggs).Added to the water is condis crystals that i brought back from south Africa turning the water purple. As the cock got fought out of the bath he returned to his box,and with in seconds the he came fluttering out,as if he was fought out of his box. After watching him for a while i noticed it was his hen fighting him out every time he came in.For about 20 min this went on until she realised it was hubby and returned to the eggs. Is this because he cleaned himself up and she did not like this or could it be the smell of the condi crystals that trough her?has anybody else ever had this?
