Hi everyone. It has been 5 months since i reported a bird to the nwhu.Twice i done it and haven't heard any thing back from owner or secretary.I ended up releasing the bird and now she keeps on flying back to my old loft. She is a cracking bird.Wat do i do?
I got a stall trap with big landing board to go up smack bang in the middle and trellis to go from top of aviary over the galvanise on a slope, stop birds landing on roof and aviary. And regards to 2x2 painting "Leonardo" :) it is treated timber but i have to agree it would look nice if all was same colour.better get painting :)
Got my loft finally moved, put a aviary on the front and got birds paired last week saturday.now just to break them. The pic misses the stall trap,i just finished building it today ,will paint and install next weekend.
Comment welcome.
Helo everyone,
I paired all my birds up yesterday, sixteen pairs 8 stock and 8 racers. The cocks had already chosen there preverd boxes.Normaly i would pair up one day leaving both cock and hen in the box for full day and then the next day i let them have there freedom 2 boxes at a time and keep alternating until all birds is flying up and down nicely. This time round they are very hard to settel, normaly i would have them done by now.
Could it be because its a new loft it will take a bit longer?
sorry,i never read all the threads,,,,,,,,late again as always.glad you got sorted.Just to add, itryed flying couriers for 2 weeks and just gave up in the end.Hopeless....
Speak to this chap,i dont know Wat the firm is called but they are picking birds up from me on the 4th and taking them up to Scotland and wales,,he is called Mike and mobile is 07716032470 and land line is 01823322538
Just game in doors now after moving my birds in to there new loft.Would staid out there all night but god is it cold. ;)Finished loft today, had club presentation night tonight came back around 22:00 and moved birds over.Found it a lot calmer and relaxed.Don't know if this is a bad move moving the birds at night. They all seemed OK when i shined the torch over them when i came in.
I agree with most, its got to be B for me.I look at myself,my first year i could only get 14th club thinking the less time and effort i put in the happier the birds....wrong.Now with every spare minute in the loft observing my birds recording all activity now they are performing.
