An elderly man in Louisiana had owned a large farm for several years. He had a large pond in the back. It was properly shaped for swimming, so he fixed it up nice with picnic tables, horseshoe courts, and some apple and peach trees. One evening, the old farmer decided to go down to the pond, as he hadn't been there for a while, and look it over. He grabbed a five-gallon bucket to bring back some fruit. As he neared the pond, he heard voices, shouting and laughing with glee. As he came closer, he saw it was a bunch of young women, skinny-dipping in his pond. He made the women aware of his presence and they all went to the deep end. One of the women shouted to him, 'we're not coming out until you leave!' The old man frowned, 'I didn't come down here to watch you ladies swim naked or make you get out of the pond naked.' Holding the bucket up he said, 'I'm here to feed the alligator...' Some old men can still think fast.

After being married for thirty years, a wife asked her husband to describe her. He looked at her for a while ... then said, "You're A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K." She asks ... "What does that mean?" He said, "Adorable, Beautiful, Cute, Delightful, Elegant, Foxy, Gorgeous, Hot. She smiled happily and said ... "Oh, that's so lovely ... What about I, J, K?" He said, "I'm Just Kidding!" The swelling in his eye is going down and the doctor is fairly optimistic about saving his testicles.

In my Club we race North & South using two separate Race Markers on the same night with no problem, plus many times birds have been marked for Nationals in the afternoon and then Club birds in the Evening with no problems. -

Well I know what would happen if it was doing it in my garden. According to the Bible, Man has been given dominion of 'all the birds in the sky'. So I see it as my God given right to deal with this sort of happening in my own way.

I was told by Unikon Support that the update is for Unikon manager only, not the clock. If you assign using EastCoast Software there will be no problem.

We had a 'rich'owner in Gaydamak at Portsmouth, he bought the Club played with it for a couple of years, had great fun winning the Cup Final along the way, then after he broke his toy he decided he wanted a total refund, sucked every penny out of the Club and left a £134 million debt, and the joke is we still owe him money, even after him managing to 'acquire' the few land assets we had when he 'sold' the club on. The latest vulture ,Mr Chanrai, who foolishly made a massive financial error in lending money to 'Portsmouth' (Gaydamak) demands all of his loan back, he also, by a bit of judicial selling-on has changed from a 20p in the £ creditor to a secured creditor. Nice money if you can get it.

I always put a pot of beans in the nest box when the YBs start to find their feet. I believe it is the best feed out for YBs as long as they exercise well. When I used to race YBs properly (when I was younger) they were fed on a controlled hopper of beans and trapped with a mixture + red band. Feeding beans allows you to control the YBs easier with tit-bits, even with beans in their crop they will readily trap using a small amount of smaller seeds. In those days my YBs, fed predominantly on beans, used to range extensively racing through the skies, rarely flying around the loft. They used to disappear for 40-50 mins on release. I have even raced evening mid-week races with the OBs while the YBs were away ranging.

If its about registering 2012 rings then that is just a Unikon Manager update, if you register birds through EastCoast Software then its not a problem so I've been told by Unikon Support.

A loft full of character, looks like you'll get a lot of pleasure racing to it.

3 yrs ago I decided that the loft across the bottom had come to the end of its useful life being over 40yrs old. A decision was made to remove it and replace with a 12 X 6 YB/Stock Loft on the other side of the garden to get a bit more length in the garden. The most recent alterations I did (and hopefully the last) was adding external doors to all the sections on the widowhood loft for easier access. The End

As a Pompey supporter I have many happy memories of Harry (& Jim) and also some not so happy. I know Harry has plenty of happy memories of his time at Pompey, millions of them.

It's not much good showing 'Arry a contract he'll have to get Sandra to read it for him, and that'll be after she's wrote the application for the job. Mind you his Spur's application letter did the trick, he may not be able to read and write but he can sure count.

This was the set-up in 2005, the far shed is what remains of my previous loft built in 1965, nearing the end of its days structurally, the cups were won in 2005 when I had a good year with the OBs winning the OB Average in Club & Solent Fed.

It,s been lovely and sunny down here on the South Coast, but very cold, I left one drinker un-emptied last night and it was near completely solid ice this morning. Watching the forecast carefully as I am going to the Hampshire 2bird Ch.Club Prize Presentation at the Wellow Golf Club on Sat night and its a bit off the beaten track. I'm taking my Uncle who is 92 so I cant afford to take any chances with the snow forecast.

Another Post from Bilco on Pigeonchat: Re: rspb raiding by bilco » Fri Feb 03, 2012 10:15 am Hi Lads. one of the moles (whatever title he visits under I don't know) is Duncan McNiven, (from the Bedford area JT), nice bloke, and he was very up to date. He knew of the case 20 years ago when the RSPB did a similar thing to me because someone had sent me a sparrowhawk's leg in the post and I happened to mention it in a radio broadcast. (I was cautioned for being "in possession" of part of a bird of prey at that time). He also asked if my YB team were my "Latebreds" - and what layman knows what a "latebred" is eh? The girls (Jo Daniels & Alison Sparkes (both RSPCA) and Claire Dowding (Natural England) were looking for pesticides, the Law was there to see they weren't assaulted and did little or no searching, leaving it all to the girls. EVERYTHING was searched. The Gestapo trains its troops well. Our liberties have been destroyed, they confiscated all guns, swords, Knives etc so no-one could rebel, now they raid us at our homes and take away our pastimes. ANY Irish (Republican or Loyalist) or Muslim friends who can join in our resistance please do so, don't contact me though, I am now watched, phone tapped, the lot. Just do it, shut up and keep smiling. Bill. bilco Gold Membership Posts: 4509 Joined: Fri Jan 12, 2007 11:55 am Location: Wincanton, Somerset.

Copied from PigeonChat: "Re: rspb raiding by bilco » Thu Feb 02, 2012 8:34 pm At 08.00 hrs this morning the Law descended on me with a search warrant, together with an RSPCA girl, an RSPB girl and a bloke, an English Nature girl, and Two Constables. They carried a big plastic "Raid Box" into my house and started in opening cupboards, drawers, looking on shelves, etc. Several of them went to inspect the birds and returned saying they were well fed, watered, housed and accommodated. But need scraping out. Somebody tell them, pigeons are renowned for s***ing. They also noted three culls I had placed in a half filled droppings bag. They then bagged up specimens of everything and anything they did not like the look of, Ridzol, Vaccine, Canker cure, Vitamins of all numbers and letters, B1, B2, B3, B12, etc., louse drops, DMG, and so on, two tins of Suanovil 50, bought in a French Pharmacy at €22 each from a French Vet (Nobody tell them we are in the EU ???). All my rockets, my brand new Bownet, unused, for catching magpies (illegal they said), my computer, even my desk phone book with family phone numbers etc in. I heard that they also hit our friend Mo at the same time. Well I didn't think much of the RSPB before, now I detest the slimy ********. They certainly run our UK Gestapo. Heil Hitler! And I thought he was dead. Just do it, shut up and keep smiling. Bill. bilco Gold Membership Posts: 4506 Joined: Fri Jan 12, 2007 11:55 am Location: Wincanton, Somerset." What rights have civilians got when it comes to searching property, I don't think its right RSPCA and RSPB 'officials' can search your property even with PCs present.

In 1984, after a fantastic season in 1983, tragedy struck when my Father suddenly died of a heart attack in late March, we had just had the YBs out for the first time and I had to move the loft & birds to my garden quickly as the house had to be vacated. Being a much smaller garden I had to downsize and redesign the sheds, the Wife, who was much happier now the birds were in the back garden had to suddenly become pigeon-friendly, which she did, and still does, to great effect having timed in on numerous occasions over the years. Here she is handling one of my (our) birds.

Just weaned 7yb (2 to go) from my stock pigeons, paired the racers up on Sunday.

This DCP hen was my first ever winner in my first ever race, it was a real snorter, a Hot thundery day, with a SE wind, from Dorchester 60ml, she won by a handsome 25mins I got 13/15 on a day when several members failed to time in.

This has been an on-going topic for months, an 'innocent' question which results in a slanging match mainly aimed at Unikon (who have a very good product but also a manufacturing base in the UK which leads to higher overheads). As far as I can see the vast majority of fanciers value their YB's at £0.00, they are an expendable commodity, in fact the only thing most fanciers worry about is that if an animal loving member of the public rescues and cares for a lost YB they will have to pay to have it returned. Far too many 'cannon fodder' YBs are being bred and if the 'cost' of an ETS ring helps to reduce this breeding by numbers then I for one will be glad of it.
-
My Club has joined for £75.00 and I will be ordering 1000 rings for the members at a saving of 15p per ring,, seems pretty good to me, as for part X Unikon it just shows they can sell them on easily because Unikon is the best, you cant beat a pocket clock.
