  1. Southampton & Dist NR Fed went at 7.30 from Wetherby Solent SR went at 7.45 from Messac
  2. After a traumatic season where we've been sold down the river by various 'owners' we have another magic moment to look forward to. I shall be at Wembley tomorrow cheering on our bits and pieces team, under the leadership of Avram Grant, take on the mighty Chelsea. Whether it will eclipse the Semi final against Spurs we can only dream, but one thing I know, we will cheer to the end. I've left the birds in the capable hands of the Wife (and ETS) so I'll be making a few phone calls. Play Up Pompey
  3. Southampton & Dist NR Fed 8.45 from Derby BBC 8.35 from Vire

  8. Solent fed up at 10-45 Kingsdown, Lt SE,Sunny, had all my sixteen widowhood cocks home by 1.00. Across the Channel next week, definately hope it warms up for that one.
  9. Just looked at XC weather and its giving it Sunny but cold with a NE wind on their nose down here on the South Coast. Not reaching double figures temperature-wise till early afternoon. Hopefully a delayed lib will be the order of the day from Kingsdown, 93mls for me.
  10. Just put on the first race result for 2010, it is still not accepting 2010 dates.
  11. This is the link http://www.pigeonbasics.com/ypmcalc.php
  12. Solent Fed went at 9.30 from Kingsdown, no wind , brilliant sunshine. Sent 17 1st bird 11.38 16th bird at 12.00. Just what I needed, good returns.
  13. Blue skies with a bit of wispy cloud here, calm but fresh, looking at a post-9.00am lib from Kingsdown with the Solent Fed.
  14. If the price of rings is a major issue then perhaps the size of YB teams need to be addressed. I doesnt take too much of a reduction to help pay for the rings what with the price of corn. I cant understand members handing back their ETS solely on cost of rings, I would have thought that , as a compromise, they could just race OBs on the system, especially those that are already rung up. Is your Club going to sell these ETS systems, you'll find plenty of takers.
  15. Is this because you are changing clocks previously on ECS to Unikon Manager. I do not touch Unikon Manager at all, all ring assignment and results are done through ECS. All the ETS in my Club are owned by the Club and our membership is limited to this number (25) so I dont get the problem of mixed ring assignment programs.
  16. John, Have you updated to 3.7, members are having a lot of trouble syncronising clocks apart updating to 3.7. Normally if ECS finds data in the clock which is not in its data base it will flash an alert asking if you want the bird deleted. From what I've heard you have to delete the clock and re-import it after updating before you can syncronise.
  17. Have you cleared the clock by 'delete trainers' and tried again. And is the clock recognising previousl assigned rings. Also try Unikon Support if Ray Knight is unavailable. http://www.pigeon-ets.com/contact.htm
  18. No connection here eiither. http://www.pigeon-chat.com
  19. It sounds as if the birds are not registered in the clock, the pad will detect and store the electronic numbers of the ETS rings, but the actual pigeon ring numbers are in the clock. If those rings are not assigned in the clock they will not show. Are you on 3.7 as there has been a lot of problems syncronising clocks after this update.
  20. The most worrying aspect is the temperature, plus a head wind for our first race from Kingsdown. It looks like plenty of sun with temperatures struggling to reach double figures. Decisions, decisions.
  21. Has this been resolved yet, Many Clubs will be starting racing in the next couple of weeks. I've been getting it in the ear from our Top-prizewinner last year who wants to know why his photo isn't on our mini-site yet.
  22. Isn't about time that we stop trying to compare two entirely different ways of timing birds in a pigeon race, the constant efforts of some to reduce the efficiency of ETS in order to get some sort of parity with manual clocking should be confined to the dustbin where they belong. We continually hear of 'basic principles' and 'conventional clocking' when referring to the action of manual clocking. ETS has superseded that with a system of clocking which clocks pigeons from a race in an efficient manner which manual clocking cannot reproduce. This is what would be expected of any technological innovation. In some countries, ETS is fast becoming 'conventional clocking' and the 'basic principle' of grabbing a pigeon and wrenching a rubber ring from its leg is fast becoming a memory. Manual clocking has become the 'Old way' of clocking pigeons much the same as 'Natural Flying' is considered the 'Old way' by exponents of the Widowhood system and 'Bean Feeding' is considered Old Hat by many fanciers. This doesn't mean feeding natural pigeons on beans and clocking in on an STB still using thimbles will stop a vast number of fanciers from winning quality races. Trying to thieve seconds from ETS users by manipulation of rules to hinder clocking is just trying to keep our Sport in the 1950s. If you dont want ETS, dont have it (you'll still win races), but dont begrudge those fanciers who are prepared to invest in modern technology.
  23. I think the Clubs section admin has been seperated from Pigeonbasics. Richard is taking it to his new website which seems to be inactive since Christmas. I am waiting for photos to be verified since last November. http://www.pigeonsportlive.com/
