  1. Lost two on the North Road, two yearlings across the Channel, two training (hawk attack?), one to the sparrowhawk (three gardens away) and another two whilst exercising around the loft probably the hawk.
  2. I feel flyaways come about when free ranging YB's are flying back to the loft and they go by it without realising and they just keep on flying, thinking they are headed for home.
  3. What a wonderful outlook for a pigeon fancier, all I get to see are the back of the houses in the next road.
  4. Vire with the Solent 135ml & Newark with the Southampton & Dist NR 158ml.
  5. If you can turn your hand to a bit of chippying I would look at basic garden sheds and customise to suit. The last loft I bought was from RV Woodcraft and it was their 12X6 stock shed, and I fitted the traps and partitions to my personal preference. There are lots of shed manufacturers about, shop around and look for the more substantially built models especially the timber sparring & shiplap sizes. http://www.waltons.co.uk/garden-sheds&gclid=CLvFr5ntl7cCFXMctAodaxwAxQ&Pg=3
  6. That's very impressive , could do with one of those views at Lib Sites when liberating.
  7. The wind down here on the South Coast has been a real problem for training and racing, our first two Channel races have been held with very strong, cold, cross winds in the Channel. As a soft Southerner this sort of weather in May is very unusual especially the temperatures. Even on 20ml tosses the birds are splitting up. Today has started cold, windy and overcast but has now started to brighten up, we are promised a pleasant afternoon so I will try and get my (up to now)unraced hens away. Thursday is also looking good and then it's all downhill for the weekend again.

  14. I know we have the results board but I would like to see the mini-sites back, I think Pigeonbasics would get more hits if we had our individual Club Sites. It's been over three years since we lost the sites with no activity on the PigeonSportLive front since 18th April 2010. Surely any agreement has now expired and Pigeonbasics should be free to resurrect Club Mini Sites or similar.
  15. Sending 16 to Vire,135mls, with the Solent S.R. Fed and 8 to Stratford,100mls, with the Southampton & Dist. N.R. Fed
  16. As its only one pair affected I'd take the bowl out and thoroughly search the nesting material to see if you can find anything, if the YBs are really badly affected, then the hen and lastly the cock it would point to proportional time on the nest, ybs being 100% the hen about 75% and the cock 25% would lead me to believe that some mite or bug is resident in that bowl. The carpet beetle larvae will feed on feathers. Read this; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Varied_carpet_beetle
  17. Whereabouts is it situated, looks very open. Can anyone post a map location.
  18. This is an excellent video with commentary for weather conditions. http://www.weatherweb.net/wxwebtv2.php
  19. If those sort of results had taken place in the UK I'm positive the fancier concerned would have had massive front page publicity by now, we'd all be buying his birds & video. It can't be a secret so why the need for secrecy? Whenever there are fanciers winning out of turn there are always seeds of suspicion sown somewhere, full publicity is the only way to give this fancier the accolades he merits or the justice he deserves. Little whispers are not the way to go, especially from an anonymous accuser. Only half believe what you see and don't believe a thing you hear, as my old dad used to say.
  20. Until we are in possession of the whole story instead of unsubstantiated details from an anonymous poster from an anonymous country how on earth can we give a true assessment. Until such slurs and gossip are aired in the Public Domain how can the accused party (and he has been accused) defend himself. Until I know the full facts I will not give an opinion, if there is one to give. I would also like more information on the original poster, by PM if necessary. He's been chipping a long time.
  21. This Club has been racing for 8wks, I would just like to know where it is, and I can see no wrong in posting official Club Results. The poster is anonymous to us so I should think that also applies to his fellow members. Perhaps the Club or Fed has a website we could be directed to.
  22. Can you post up your list of Club results with times, distances, birdage & member numbers so that we can evaluate better.

  24. I'm considering changing my Chat Name but I'm undecided whether to go with Hants Clown or Mr Selfish, I quite like the thought of being one of the mister men, so I think 'Mr Selfish' will probably win the day.
  25. I received an abusive anonymous letter in reply to letters printed in the RP and BHW both with my name (Mick Johnson) and address displayed. I certainly don't expect every one to be in agreement with my views about ETS but a least I have the courage of my convictions to include my name & address in the publications. This person is obviously a budding Internet Troll well versed in Twitter and the like, perhaps someone will recognise the handwriting.
