Thanxs for the replies guys but i am still none of the wiser, Let me give u a example Race point yesterday was Whitley Bay, Whitley bay to my loft is 146.0293 miles.. My Velocity was 1453.680542 Competitor's distance to is loft is 142.0917 miles... Is Velocity was 1454.689735 as u can see i fly 3.9376 miles further, how is race positions worked out from the above many thanxs...

Hi folks any persons got any idea how overfly is worked out as i am furthest flyer in club, many thanxs...

I presume if a majority of folks thought like that we might as well call it a day now and save what it will cost us this yr in fuel, corn, club fee's rings etc etc etc.... Another thing is what ever u got u can't take it with you so might as well just get on with it.....

It's life m8 many yrs ago can u remember when the fuel protests where on the protests that nearly brought the country to a standstill? How many folks on this forum can say they participated in them protests, hand on heart i can honestly say i was one of the hauliers that stood there all day all nite outside the Cowlick fuel refineries here in Notts fighting for the likes of everyone else that couldn't be arsed or for the fact in there words could not get involved for the fact they had mortgages and could not afford to have time off work i also had a mortgage did not stop me protesting......... Like everything else majority of English folks want everyone else to do the fighting for them.... Now x amount of yrs on it's not the 1st post i have read i doubt it will be the last folk noticing the fuel prices.....

My Young Birds are flown natural not on the darkness i have had a 1st from Scotch Corner, 3 rd from Whitley bay against lads that fly there Young Birds on darkness..... If i get a few in the bag against these lads i am more than pleased as i look at young bird racing as education...........

The back of the quarry is broken on impact then when the peregrine then finds a safe place to start to tuck into the quarry it then breaks its neck, that's why Falcons have the tooth on there beak where as a hawk just has the curved beak....

Lots of councils introduce the raptors into the city to control the feral pigeon, ask majority of the general public a pigeon is vermin flying rat weather it be a racer or feral.. Just look what extremes councils have gone to keep the feral pigeon off buildings by putting them spikes up so they can't land if they do they die of a very slow death.... The general public needs educating regards the racing pigeon but then again if they have no interest why would they want to listen i know i wouldn't if i had no interest...

You will all moan about the prices but you will pay it just something else to winge about........................

Whistle relates to food whistle relates to food drill it into them blow that whistle whilst feeding blow it, keep a little hungry when you let them out whilst training to the whistle, when you think there ready to land on them roofs blow that whistle them pigeons that don't land on roof reward with food, them that land on roof no food.... Simple really m8 whistle means food = reward.. Good luck.

I have a Blakes loft it wasn't new when i purchased it and according to the original owner who brought it from new this loft had been moved from/to several locations and erected, then i brought it and erect it again no problems with leaks no problems with resp either so not all bad..

Sorry to hear of your problems with the raptors m8, i use to fly raptors did so for many yrs anyway that's beside the point in all honesty there is nothing you can do to stop them legally nor illegally if you could the pigeon fancier would not have a problem m8, because no doubt we would all take the illegal road to wipe out the problem.... Not saying this would work m8 but anything is worth a go to try and keep the raptors at bay i have heard the presents of a couple of scarecrows placed in the garden being moved around the garden, a dog roaming about the garden whist your birds are out may deter a raptor strike... Excessive sudden noise may also deter the raptor when you see it but will also spook your birds if there out... I def know a raptor and a corvid do not see eye to eye so maybe a few decoys of corvids placed around the garden being moved from one place to another will deter a strike.. If the Raptor feels threatened it will move on...Just means getting your pigeons use to the above methods, if you do let me know how you get on i hope you find a method to deter them all the best m8....................

Also tried it all Easibedding Hemcore sand mixed it 50/50....Once they start dropping there guts on it becomes very messy as in sticking to your feet etc etc......I have now gone on to this stuff http://www.northerncropdriers.co.uk/megazorb.htm... So far i am pleased with it....Trial in error until you find something that suits :)..

I think plenty of ventilation and air circulation going through my loft, i can take the polycarbonate windows out behind the traps if i wish to do so adding more ventilation...

I have seen more kills on game with all different species of raptors than you have clocked winners in ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D.... I don't comment on things i know jack sh** about either i have flown raptors at game kept birds of prey for many years, before i decided to have a go at racing pigeons...... I don't know probably half or even a quarter of what some of the fanciers on here know about racing pigeons that's why i don't give advice or comment... But i presume where all different Hotrod yea, how many raptors have you flown? probably none but you def know for sure that a peregrine can tail chase a racing pigeon and catch it for sure ? Why didn't the peregrine that stooped at your young birds when liberated tail chase and catch 1? Do you think the peregrine was playing, it didn't catch one because it wasn't fast enough tail chasing... When a peregrine attacks it goes in for the kill it isn't messing about about wasting energy trying to make in on a kill.. I read lots of sh** on here about Raptors i don't comment much for the simple reason it causes lots of sh**....

Peregrine can not catch a racing pigeon in straight line level flight............... Peregrines gain pitch to attack then stoop knocking quarry out the sky..............

Hi i have also used easi bedding, and Hemcore found it nice bang on when it 1st gets put down but after a week or so it tends to clump to the bottom of your feet having been soiled on therefore then trampling it all over the garden... Do you get that problem.

Do you not crush the granules when you go in and out the loft walking on them therefore causing dust as i presume the granules are made of wood?

No doubt the question as been asked many times before Plz excuse me for asking it again but what floor substrate do ppl use in there lofts? I have tried Easi bedding, Hemcore it's ok when it 1st goes down then after a week or so then begins to clog and stick to your feet then trampling it all over garden I have also used Sand, now sand i found was ok but my hens started eating it for some unknown reason which put me off it so i removed it all...Even though they get fresh Matrix everyday, when they where eating it they where passing in through in there droppings put wind up me a little because i thought of compaction in the crop of the pigeons... Now thinking of going bck to Sand with loft whitener added this time whats your thoughts?
