Under the terms of the general licence issued by DEFRA, only magpies, crows, jays, jackdaws and rooks can be trapped. You do need a licence to trap Magpies.............

Wasn't interested in trapping any Corvids .... Magpies are vermin still I believe, likewise Squirrells and rats etc. I agree yes Magpies, crows rooks are all vermin and a magpie is part of the corvid family............

Did the European Eagle Owl not spook your pigeons...........

You still have to apply to Defra for a licence to trap Corvids in a larsen trap........

You have to be registered with Defra in this country to trap any kind of raptor...Remember a bird of prey is protected species of bird also...

I can not access the Loft auction site is there any reason for this? I have tried to register but declines my application due to me not having a Loft Reg number at present i have no loft no pigeons no nothing lol.. Any help much appreciated many thanks all Jon..

Top man lol my old man use to race Kirkpatrick's he got them off a bloke called DR Dunn many many yrs ago i would presume DR Dunn now passed on god bless him.......Have you had much success with the Kirkpatrick's?

At this moment in time Phil doing lots of research m8, as things have seem to have changed quite a bit lol, i was 14 -20 yrs old when i was last involved with pigeons now 43 yrs old lol...First got to decide what size loft i want looking at something in the range of 50-60ft in length. Then got get someone in to lay the foundations for the loft to sit on etc not going to rush into it like. Or if i can pick up a decent 2nd hand one will consider that option as well.... Slowly but surely Phil i will get there m8........

Yes m8 i hope to be doing so only things have moved on since i was racing with the old man like as things do lol... Got lots of reading to do i think and lots and lots of questions to ask some might sound a little silly to the more experienced but plz be patient with me it won't take me long well i hope not to grasp majority of it ...........

Hi all quick introduction I'm John surname (Kirkpatrick lol honest) Been many yrs since been involved with the sport a good 20 at least. Been browsing certain topics and threads wow things have changed got lots of research to do ..........I live in Carlton Nottingham club use to be the Windsor Castle where me and my old man use to race under the name Kirkpatrick & Son me being the Son lol... I know the Windsor Castle does no longer hold a club there been told the Tally Ho and Chesterfield Arms are the local Clubs verification on this would be much appreciated. Many thanks Jon.
