Your more than welcome to Bring your Gos over to Notts once the season starts again i have some very good land with plenty of game on it Partridge, Pheasants etc... I could then be the judge to our good your Gos is... Being a X falconer myself seen plenty of so called good Goshawks being out flown by these very clued up fit pheasants...Do you work your Gos over a dog? If not and your gos is OK with dogs i will bring along my dog which is a GSP he works well as i use to work him under my birds......... Let me know..
  3. Lol looks that way dude, and looks as if 2 minds think the same
  4. So bottom line then what can be done to stop these wild peregrines from attacking race birds? I'll give u my thoughts for wot they are worth, nothing can be done. It will always be a on going problem.... Can talk about it for ever and a day from what i read upon the forum its been a ongoing problem for some time but now seems worse than ever, looks as if no one could nip it in the bud in the earlier days so doubt if can stop it now... Presume the fancier can only take measures to protect is prized possessions whilst sitting in the garden with them awaiting a strike, not much anyone can do once birds are airborne or coming back from race......
  5. Top Post.............
  6. Raptors are very territorial will not tolerate another raptor in its territory they will kill it if they bind to it even if it is the same species of raptor...
  7. I flown many raptors for many yrs had many of good season flying raptors at game, but now i have reverted back to a sport what i participated in many yrs ago. Unfortunately no one will be able to do anything about the wild raptor taking racing pigeons These are wild Peregrines that are doing just what comes natural to them and unfortunately they cannot distinguish a feral pigeon from a racer harsh i know but true........ I don't think ppl should be taking it out of falconers for the fact they fly BOPS a responsible falconer who flies long-wings will either fly at corvids or game not a pigeon fanciers prized possessions....
  8. No gap on my doors m8 when shut ther shut snug...
  9. I believe my loft is a Blakes loft i brought it 2nd hand according to the owner this time was the 4th time of it being took down and erected back up. Can honestly say i am pleased with it no leaks wot so ever anywhere it does have a fibreglass roof though but no leaks through joints etc and we have had some big downpours of rain so it as been tested.

  12. Reason i ask is as follows like i have already said i work nite so can spend all day with birds, wot i have been doing is letting out round about 11'o'clock they don't do much apart from flutter from one end of garden to the other might have a min or so fly then straight bck down on loft roof pick about garden etc get them in about 15.00hrs feed them water them etc then that's it for the day with the birds there also very responsive to the whistle i blow when come feed time. Now i have been told i am doing it all wrong should be letting out in morning for 1 hr getting back in small feed let y/b rest then back out in the afternoon for another hr lol . This is my 1st yr back into the pigeons from having 22 yrs maybe more out the sport..... Many thanks for your replies.....
  13. Hi Grizzal is it only the once you let them out then...
  14. Thanks for your reply, i am fortunate not to have problems with the hawks round where i live at home all day as i work nights so i can also have them out all day...Is that a good thing having them out majority of the day picking in the garden and basking on loft roof they don't do much more as there only oldest i think is 8 weeks lol flutter from one end of the loft or garden to other but they come like wild fire when whistle is blown to indicate snap time lol...
  15. Then after the 20Th June twice is it?
