The bird that as probabley been my best ever racer cost me £3.25 in a auction sale we had at our club,and the bird that as been my best breeder cost me £25 at a clearance sale,picked him out of about 70 birds only by his eye.

Did it breed any winners.

Hi Ace,I would just like to put a few points forward to your posting as i see it,1.Totally agree with this.2.At the end of the day does it really matter who the moderators are as long as they are doing the job that Richard as asked them to do,to me knowing who the moderators are is wrong anyway because as soon as they delete something they are open to abuse if the person who posted it doesn,t agree it should be removed.3.Under the present circumstances and by reading Fifers posting i think they are doing a good job.4.Cant see that sacking the present moderators is going to make a scrap of differance,but i do agree delete anything straight away that the mods,think shoudn,t be on the forum,AND ALSO TAKE MEMBERS OFF THE FORUM WHO CONTINUALLY SWEAR AND PUT POSTINGS UP THAT THE MODS DONT THINK SHOULD BE THERE PERHAPS FOR A WEEK OR SO,THEN IF THEY CONTINUE IN THE SAME WAY TAKE UM OFF FOR GOOD.Probabley upset a few by my thoughts but thats how i see it. Hi Ste,You shoudn,t have any problem getting the rolls but i,m a bit worried now you have said that you got it from Belgium but hopefully it will be ok to use,i now my brother as got one of those but he had it give him when the guy realised he couldn,t use it.If i remember there was a small plastic gauge with this clock as sometimes this type of clock was read wrong,i would try and get the clock to your clocksetter as sone as you can for him to see if it can be used.

You should be able to get the rolls from Linells or Boddy and Ridewood,make sure that it leves a opening and closing hole in the roll though as i think that there were some of these clocks that came in from Belgium that didn,t do this so you cannot use them.

If the retiring sec.as been doing a good job for years then who better to ask than him,obviously the members have been happy with what he as done so i would get as much help and guidance from him as you can,by what you have said i,m sure he will help you.

Was the bird transferred to the new owner before it took the position.If the answear is yes then ther,s no problem,if the answear is no then the person was breaking the rules and should of been suspended.

I have a pair of birds in the loft that have produced 15 first prize winners and another pair that has produced 21 first prize winners. I took the cock from pair number one and put it to the hen of pair number two and the cock of number 2 and put it to the hen of number 1 and they produced no winners. One bird from each pair must have had good eyesign to have produced so many winners so why did they not produced winners when their partners where changed. I know you will probable say that it,s easy for me to say this, now that you have told me the answear but probable 9 times out of 10 this is exacly what i would have said would happen,the pairs were obviously suited to one another but once they were split they wern,t,how many times have you heard a fancier say oh this pigeon bred loads of winners for it,s last owner but asn,t bred a thing for me,no because they should of had it,s mate as well that bred all the winners.

I dont class myself a eyesign expect but i will try and answear your questions the best i can,I am breeding winners,all the pigeons i have chosen what i would call as a breeders eye have bred me winners,that is not a lie,i might have a loft full of winners i might not you wouldn,t know that anyway,Who says good eye sign birds breed birds that do not win,have you had a REAL eyesign expect pair two birds together for you that have not produced winners,there are many things that makes a bird a winner a good eye is only one of them.

me I like to win races. So does everyone else pigeonscout,but you,ve got to breed off pigeons that are capable of breeding winners and this is where eyesign comes into it.

Nearly all correct Roland,We didn,t have a telly for along time but i have got 10 brothers and sisters?I drank my water from out of streams and springs coming out the hills,and those dripping sandwiches on bread you cut yourself about 2 inches thick would last ya all day until you came home at night.It was allways bread pudding for me,spotted dick with heaps of tate and lyle treacle on,rabbit stews and dumplings,freshly caught on the hills (the rabbits that is) those were the days hey,how did we ever survive?

Mark,in cases like this i allways get the ring list out and look through that until i find the club or clubs i,m looking for if you havn,t got it i will try and have a look for you and see what i come up with.

I,m pretty certain Carol that this sort of system is not used at all in the U.K.I think i have read of a simular idea in Belgium or Holland,perhaps Stuart may be able to help you more.

DARNAWAY,You have every right to be disgruntled if it had of been my bird the air would of been purple not blue,as you say they just dont seem to care when something goes wrong even when it is a living thing,what i was merely saying was that the drivers get told where to go etc so you cant really put any blame on them,99.99% of the time it is the idiots in the depot,s who we speak with that get everything wrong.

I,m not sticking up for amtrak at all here but the self employed drivers yes,because they are only doing or going where they are sent by amtrak,it,s in the depot,s where the problem stem,s from not from the guy,s on the vans.
