  1. Despite the great performances that the bird had put up the fact that he is a 96 pigeon was obviously the reason he went so cheap.Hopefully whoever bought him will manage to breed of him but even moving him to another loft at that age I think is taking a chance, but for £34 its worth a try.
  2. Alex, I can,t see any problem with using the old software until we get the new disc, our club only used the Unikon system for the young birds last year, this was our first time so we need to allocate rings for all the members old birds, where as clubs that have used the system for some time will not have this problem.
  3. As anyone received their copy of the new club software yet,if so how have you found using it etc.
  4. Hi Jack,Do you find that these star clusters are visible all the time in certain birds as I was lead to believe that they would be visible only in a super fit pigeon which if you saw them when sending to a race this would be the bird to put your house on.
  5. Were they payed for with a lottery grant.
  6. Everyone is going to tell you that their.s is the best, what I would say is check each system out to see which one best meets your own needs.
  7. Hi Jack,Realy glad to see that you have decided to put your articles on the site, even for myself I still love to read any articles on eyesign and love travelling round the eyesign shows allthough it does baffle me sometimes on the way the judges seem to pick out what they feel are the best.I can understand why the doubters think what they do about eyesign when there doesn,t seem to be any consistancey in the judging.Wondered what your thoughts are on this.I also noticed on the eye in the top right corner of the last picture that the pupil seems to be slightly oval,is this something in the eye that we should steer clear of,I was allways lead to believe that the pupil should be as perfectly round as possible.
  8. You are certainly correct there mate,no person who practises eyesign would disagree I,m sure.
  9. Exactly the way I have chosen my stock for many years now and I have be right (or lucky) with nearly everyone.
  10. 2 UPPER RUSSELL ST WEDNESBURY W.MIDLANDS WS10 7AR TEL.0121 505 6370 WWW.MEDITECH.CO.UK. Hope this is usefull.
  11. Really cant see that it,s a problem other fanciers seeing what time your late comers arrive but each to his own,is there not someone at home that could just switch off the power to the clock say after the first 10 have arrived,I cant really see a company putting this facility into the system,as for your sputnik what i did was to put a piece of plywood inside the trap the same length as the landing board, underneath this fix some 1x1inch wood with another piece of ply fixed to that to form a slot, this needs to be the size of the ETS pad or pads if you have UNIKON,you then can cover up the holes on the sputnick that you dont want to use,on the back of the sputnick fit bob wires to stop birds that are inside the loft flying up into the trap.
  12. Tammy can you say how you came to the conclusion that these products made absolutely no differance to your birds.
  13. Not sure if it was ever held at Stoneleigh this one as been held at the Walsall ground for the past 3 years allways been known as the Black Country Spring fayre, went last year it,s not massive but there is everything there you want, extra,s this year include a Fancy pigeon exibition with trade stands and sales and also cage birds on show and for sale,as well as all the usual stuff for the pigeons, seems to be getting better each year.
  14. If its the Black Country one your talking about Ted its being held again this year at the Walsall Fc. on Saturday the 15th March doors open at 9.00.
  15. Think you have answeared your own posting there mate, when the birds are in such fantastic form thats the time you usually get the white droppings.
  16. You probably all know this but just in case, the chestnut brown shiny beans were obviously old beans where as the very pale ones are from a new harvest, left in bags for a while they will be as brown as the others. There are fanciers that say the new beans are the best, personally I do like to see a nice shiny brown bean.
  17. You can buy many differant types of trap now that have the facility to be used with the ETS system if required,if you can get hold of a Murray and Mills catalogue have a look at the trap on the back page, all alluminium super piece of kit, used one last year with the ETS perfect.
  18. 5400 miles,Ichabo Isle,West Africa to Nine Elms,London.Actually dropped dead one mile from loft after 55 days, liberated 1June 1845.Owned by the Duke of Wellington. The distance was a approximate airline distance, but as the bird could not have crossed the Sahara Dessert the probable distance would have been about 7000 miles.
  19. Allways remember the old saying "Dont try and run before you can walk.
  20. Allthough you dont neccisarily need a computer to do the race results you do need a computer to put members and their birds information on,this is a must.
  21. We do have one of those a 128mb one,is that big enough for a complete race result programme.
  22. Spotted a nice blue pied SVR. hen on one of the stalls that had bred 6 1st prizewinners for £100.was tempted but didn,t get her.
  23. Dont seem to be getting anywhere, the pc it,s on as windows 98,the programme is a dos based programme, dont have the original disk it came on,where do I find the programme list that Tammy said, sorry thought these points might make a differance.
