Crumbled up biscuits will be fine or crumbled toast you could see if the ships cook as any rice or lentils as they would be perfect also,if you can find out the ring number it would be good as we could probable tell you where the bird is from and where it was flying to.
-
Had one back this morning it was stamped 19.05.08 as being the transfer date, but its fourteen days before you can race or show the bird so no problem.
-
Yea another good performance by the blue pied hopefully as you say Frank he will put in the best performance in the last race, spoke to Jeremy a while ago the red hadn,t shown up then but still plenty of time.

rules gone mad
PIGEON_MAN replied to ChrisMaidment08's topic in Pigeon Politics, Rules & Regulations
Surely clubs have a say in any rule changes as we do in the RPRA,it is the commitee that agrees to any propositions for changes in the rules but normally clubs would vote on them beforehand. -

Rules are passed by the clubs and it,s members so its up to them to change it,the president is only carrying out is job correctly. -

Would be interested on reading the actual rule as it is written in the rule book any chance of copying it on here. -
There is a possibility that the persons loft number is inside the ETS ring, get your mate to have it checked.

People talk of places over the channell but to me Lerwick as allways been one of the hardest racepoints to race from, what with the mists etc have known birds to be held there for nearly a week and then they still have if I remember right over 100 miles of sea to cross before they reach the Scottish mainland.
-
Allthough we flew north for a season a couple of years back which wasn,t very successful my memories of flying north go back to the 70,s when our club flew that route for many years.Probably my best successes was winning the North Road Championship Club Section G three years in succesion from Perth, on all the occasions the races were very hard the highest vel being 1088.Flying Lerwick I will never forget as the club also had a short race the same day,so come 7.00 pm I went off to the club to strike off the clocks and left the wife who was heavily pregnant at the time with our first son to watch in case anything came from Lerwick, they had been liberated approx 6.00 am flying about 560 miles, well she clocked around 9.00 pm and then got on a pushbike and bought the clock over to me at the club which was about 1mile away, only to be beaten into 2nd place.

Severn valley up at 8.00 from Kingsdown north east wind.
-
What numbered system is it because if it is the CHAMP 200 this will not work with a pocket clock unless you pay to have it upgraded.
-
You dont have to buy the pocket clock the system can be used as it is.
-
I know a couple of fanciers that managed to get them for £90 a couple of weeks ago,but I understood they have now gone back up to £190,could be wrong though.
-
My understanding from clubmates that went to the marking was that there was obviously a place to mark birds with rubbers on and a place for people who had ETS,surely that was the most efficient way to set up things, sorry to hear that your father in law had to stand for so long, personally i would of said Dad you wait in the car i,ll put the birds through.

Tommy Lawley was/is one of the GREATS in the West Midlands known many years ago for what he acheived with his family of Stichelbauts,I believe in recent years he as raced the sootjens with great success,we have a member in our club that had them off Tommy and as does really well with them.
-
I to heard this many years ago and have experienced bad races when the two have been visible at the same time.
-
We had the same thing happen in our club,a member had a bird from the race when we came to print off the arrival time the only thing that was on the print off was the number of the bird,no time or date of arrival, but when she went home all details was still in the base.Unikon said the pocket clock could not have been in the base when the bird arrived, but the member said it definatly was.
-
Does seem that way at the moment,we did have a update on the Bricon system but that was back in march,Unikon say that this one is to avoid members from having an error on their race arrival report which some have been expieriencing.
-
For people who may not know there is yet another update on the Unikon system,go to www. pigeon-ets.com to download version 2.87.

Is it a ruling in the NEPC that you have to join the MNFC to be a member of the NEPC,If not then thats up to you wether you join or not,as for getting your long.and lat.that is a bigger problem, normally when you join a local club the secretary will come round and mark your loft location on a map send it off to the RPRA and then you will get your long.and lat,I just noticed you say you can join your local club so the sec.or a official should sort that out for you when you join.
-
Does your secretary not get imformed when the birds are up if so do as I do with my members I ring them as soon as I know and they pay for the call.
-
Plenty of good second hand ones about might be cheaper to consider one of those.
-
Just to let the members of the Pigeon Basics Syndicate that our two birds went yesterday along with the other 159 entries for their first race to Exeter,i,m glad to say that both returned with the Blue pied being our first home in 21st position which was about 6 1/2 minutes behind the winner. The first bird was actually 1st in the Malvern SRIC out of a total of 372 birds and looks like being in the Severn valley fed result as well, for more information check the RPRA website.
-
Cheers sue a great help, needed them to put onto the Unikon system as at least one of our members as joined the BBC.
