  1. Just checked the 2001 ring out ,funny its from the same area as the guy who is selling them, wonder if the owner knows the birds dead.
  2. Allthough this person found these rings, just wondering how he or she stands by selling someone else,s property, unless he as been intouch with the owner and they have been given to the seller.
  3. Is that the same one that we were talking about last week Chris.
  4. Just tried it out with one of our members birds who are members of the MNFC and yes it does come up with thier phone number. This is something the Rpra could use as well as the other national clubs would certainly help with getting to know who the owner is,so long as they are on the phone.
  5. Brilliant Idea this from the MNFC not to sure if it brings up the tel.number of the owner or how long they have had this on the site but very good.
  6. All 08Z rings from 00001-99999 were issued to the Midland National Flying Club, who then issue them out to their members, but you still have to report them direct to the RPRA and not the MNFC,where as with most of the other lettered rings you can report them to the club secretary to which they were issued.
  7. Unfortunatly 08.Z. rung pigeons have to be reported direct to the RPRA.The offices will be open from 9 a.m. tomorrow,or you could go onto the RPRA web site and report it on there.
  8. Well i,ve just checked back and find that i,m just coming up to my 25th year as Secretary,Treasurur,Clock Setter,(also for the NFC and MCC,)Ring Secretary,Fed official,on the Fed management committee, sorted out everthing for the Ets in the club (Bricon and Unikon) and anything else that needs to be done in the club. Am I mad or what.Dont get me wrong we have a great bunce of members who will help out at Basketking etc.but as secretary I know if I do it myself I know its been done.I do think it takes a certain kind of fancier to become a secretary etc,so I say if you cant give 150%to the job dont take it on because you are letting the other members down.
  9. Maybe not,it may have been in a race from up near Edinburgh and was flying back to York, might even belong to someone near there but was bred by someone in york.If you ring the secretary they will hopefully put you intouch with the owner.
  10. The ring is registered to someone in the ACOMB WMCHS club which is near YORK,the secretaries number is 01904 798750.Thanks for taking the trouble to put the number up.
  11. Just wondering what is the longest distance people are sending their youngsters to know.
  12. Noticed that the race was for YOUNG BIRDS open to anyone flying over 420 miles, don,t think there would be many that would enter that now let alone 1949.
  13. No worries about pairing the youngsters together half brother and sister can be a good pairing sometimes.
  14. BOOTLE H S.Sec.Mr.Keith Warham 01512 930503.Liverpool. One of Vics perhaps.
  15. There will allways be updates, its doesn,t mean they are to fix a problem with the system, some updates are because of the change in RPRA rules, likewise we keep having updates on the computers simple because systems improve etc.
  16. Nothing so easy Ant,guess you,ve read Robbies posting.
  17. Does anyone know what the code LCEI means on your race arrival sheet, the birds ring numbers etc are on there but no times, anyone know why this as happened.
  18. I would say they are supposed to be looking out for ETS rings that belong to someone other than the fancier that is trying to get them allocated to their bird.Surely a fancier would not stoop so low as to take another fanciers ETS ring and try and put it on one of theirs.WOULD THEY.
  19. Was the bird wing stamped or carry a name and address ring.
  20. Sounds as if the bird could belong to the secretary allthough sometimes clubs use the secretary,s number to stamp their birds with,if you still cant get hold of him either report the bird direct to the RPRA through their website or keep it in for a few days until you think its ready to go and then try and release it away from your loft.
  21. Think the missing letter in the ring number could be "B"as the club with the numbers 11720 under this prefix as the same code number,if i,m right its from Walsall, secs number 01922 647723,just thought it may be of help when you pick the bird up Kev.
  22. Have just found another club in Walsall it could belong to think it might be best until you check the ring number proper.
  23. Whichever one you choose they basically all do the same thing what I would say is see what your club is using and ask whoever does the computer side of it which one he or she would like you to get, makes live a lot easier for them.
  24. Registered to someone in the BATLEY SRHS, secs number 01924 472538,West Yorkshire.
  25. But then you have to prove that he didn,t catch them in his traps he as scattered around the buildings where he lives.
