Seems to be the other way round here BICC lads have faired worse (not just me) I have 8 from 26 now
  4. Well done mate you got 'em many missing this weekend
  5. Sounds right to me
  6. OK Darren. These are not my birds and the fancier concerned only has the two yearlings. Plus invalids and late breds. For me I'd put 'em away for next year! What do ya recon.
  7. So you have a pair of yearlings that flew a tough 2 bird race yesterday. Neither turned up on the day but both on the second day in pouring rain. What would you do with them???????????

Last BICC race we had 3 in top 200 none of which were here this morning. Have had two come in the rain today. We had two last night clocked at 6.15 pm 107th I think. We are 20 short from 26. Are you sure the BICC had a good race.
  9. Tubbles I certainly think we are good birds short and I aint happy at being so many short but we are missing a lot of birds and there is no way I would want to be convoyer. I have had bad training chucks, imagine what it would be like if you liberated 4000 birds and watched as they circled the site for half an hour. I chucked mine out 10 mile down the road and knew I'd made a big mistake but once you've done it, it's done. No going back. You know we've sold birds, that I was well proud of. We are birds short that have been in the top 5% more than once. No we didn't send rubbish and felt we'd get better returns but. No offence taken.
  10. Tubbles you seem to think on similar lines to me. We are two down from the top 5% at our last race, but clearly some of our birds were not up to the job yesterday. Show me someone who has a loft with no weakness in it.
  11. Rose agree with you entirely but, no convoyer would let them go if he thinks he is gonna do himself out of a job. I for one would not like to have liberated yesterday or two weeks ago. They have to lib at some point and we put these boys on the spot every week. Not a job I want, and I take my hat off to anyone brave eneough to do it.
  12. Trouble with videos is on a tough day like yesterday once the birds are in the air. You would have people queing up to hang the convoyer. Once they've gone they've gone. I am 22 short from yesterday. The truth is we got brother and sister, so they could do it ?We are up with the top 5% so!
  13. Two last night and two more this morning. Can now look forward to a much smaller corn bill.
  14. Numa you got note to frown at just clocked me second bird at 8.30 pm 24 missing ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  15. 1 from 26 BICC Alencon. Seems to be the only one this far up country though.

Not gonna be an easy day mate.Would think you should expect soon, but don't know your distance. Keep looking. Best o' luck. Pete
  17. Yea mate but BICC didn't go till 08:50
  18. Whole team out at Alencon BICC 278 miles
  19. Faint heart never wins anything nice one mate
  20. I never shut my birds out, never throw a ball, and they just don't sit on the roof. My young birds will fly over an hour or more twice a day every day Last year my son would let them out at 4.30 when he got home from school and I had a job to get them in before 7 o'clock. Not that I have any this year. To me it sounds like you have two problems. Overfed. easy solution feed twice a day then you can regulate the amount you feed much better. The nasty little bugger too many overlook is canker, classic symtoms are look great but just don't want to fly.
  21. We are paying £1.75 with the BICC. We could also pay £3 for the MNFC.

    LONGEST RACE

Can't say which was most satisfying on the day at 517 miles 13 hrs 15 mins or 634 miles on second day.
  23. Mate you're short of birds. He can find his way home. Keep him. We had a cock picked up in the street. Fancier kept him over winter. He is now back with us and racing. Never trained, first race 122 miles next 138 next 163 miles. Third race up with the front runners. If he can find his way home after this length of time he obviously knows when he's on to a good thing. He aint gonna get a free ride but if he keeps coming he can go to Sarran with the BICC. Then as a late bred yearling he will have earned his perch for the winter. However we are short of cocks this year. A hen wouldn't have been so lucky.
  24. Sorry you're one of me babbies short. We did get 1st 2nd 3rd in the local club from BICC Falaise this weekend 108th BICC. Two hens and a cock all on 3 day eggs. Would have to say think you should get them hens out. Had a south rd cock last year. Went Taunton 122 miles Wincanton then Newton Abbot 162 miles turned him to Perth 297 miles. 13th sec NRCC. Two or three more races mate and I bet them hens will surprise you. They will be fresh and keen and not seen all the bad weather your cocks have had to endure.
  25. Sprinters aint they? Funny that as we had 281st Tarbes 634 miles with one of 'em.
